Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Day-to-Day Accounting & Bookkeeping:
-
Record daily financial transactions in Tally or other accounting software.
-
Maintain ledgers, journals, vouchers, and supporting documentation.
-
Ensure timely posting of sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
-
Perform regular bank reconciliations and monitor cash/bank balances.
-
Assist in monthly and quarterly closing of books.
2. Tally ERP Operations:
-
Enter all accounting data in Tally ERP 9 / Tally Prime accurately.
-
Create and manage ledger accounts, inventory entries, tax configurations, and vouchers.
-
Generate necessary reports like Trial Balance, Ledger Summary, P&L, Balance Sheet, etc.
3. GST Return Filing:
-
Prepare and file monthly/quarterly GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9).
-
Reconcile GSTR-2A/2B with purchase records.
-
Coordinate with vendors for reconciliation discrepancies.
-
Ensure timely compliance to avoid penalties.
4. TDS Return Filing:
-
Calculate TDS liability on salary, contract payments, professional fees, rent, etc.
-
Deduct and deposit TDS with the government before the due date.
-
File quarterly TDS returns (Form 24Q, 26Q, etc.) accurately.

Generate and issue Form 16 / 16A to clients or vendors.
5. Income Tax Return (ITR) Filing for Clients:
-
Collect relevant documents and data for ITR filing from clients.

File ITRs for individuals, proprietors, and firms as per applicable laws.

Maintain records of filed returns and acknowledgments.
-
Track refund status and compliance deadlines.
6. Financial Statement Preparation:
-
Assist in the preparation of Profit & Loss accounts, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements.

Support the senior accountant or auditor in analyzing trial balance and finalizing accounts.

Adjust journal entries such as depreciation, accruals, provisions, etc.
-
Ensure financials are prepared as per applicable standards (Ind AS/IGAAP).
7. Audit Support:
-
Provide assistance in internal and statutory audits.
-
Collect, compile, and organize audit-related documentation.
-
Resolve audit queries and ensure timely submission of data.
-
Work closely with auditors to ensure compliance with audit checkpoints.
8. Client Coordination and Reporting:
-
Communicate with clients (for CA firms) or internal stakeholders (for corporates) regarding missing documents, compliance reminders, and financial clarifications.

Prepare MIS reports or tax summaries as needed.
-
Maintain filing and documentation in an organized manner for reference and audit purposes.
