Job Description
Introduction
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with expertise in Tally ERP to manage the company’s financial transactions, bookkeeping, and accounts management. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of accounting principles, taxation, reconciliation, and reporting.
As an Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing GST returns, TDS filings, bank reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws. Key Responsibilities
1. Bookkeeping & Accounting
Record all daily financial transactions in Tally ERP accurately.
Maintain ledgers, vouchers, and supporting documents.
Post journal entries and reconcile accounts receivable and payable.
Monitor cash flow and ensure sufficient working capital availability.
2. GST, TDS & Tax Compliance
Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and annual filings) on time.
Calculate and deduct TDS for applicable transactions and file TDS returns.
Ensure compliance with Income Tax laws and other statutory regulations.
Coordinate with auditors and tax consultants during assessments.
3. Bank Reconciliation & Payments
Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure accuracy.
Monitor payments to vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
Handle payment follow-ups from customers and track outstanding balances.
Manage petty cash and maintain cash flow statements.
4. Financial Reporting
Prepare trial balance, balance sheet, profit & loss statements, and other MIS reports.
Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management review.
Analyze variances and provide insights on cost optimization and budgeting.
Assist management in financial forecasting and planning.
5. Inventory & Asset Management
Manage inventory accounting and reconcile stock ledgers in Tally.
Coordinate with the warehouse/store team to ensure stock accuracy.
Maintain fixed asset records and calculate depreciation schedules.
6. Audit & Compliance
Assist internal and external auditors during statutory, GST, and tax audits.
Ensure all supporting documents and vouchers are properly maintained.
Adhere to company policies and financial compliance requirements.
7. Coordination & Support
Collaborate with the finance, sales, and procurement teams for smooth operations.
Liaise with banks, vendors, and regulatory authorities when required.
Support the finance manager in implementing best accounting practices.
Required Skills & Competencies
1. Technical Skills
Proficiency in Tally ERP 9 / Tally Prime for bookkeeping and accounting.
Knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory compliances.
Familiarity with MS Excel, Word, and accounting software.
Ability to prepare financial statements and MIS reports independently.
2. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data.
Ability to identify accounting discrepancies and resolve them efficiently.
Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
3. Communication & Teamwork
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Proactive and organized in handling tasks and deadlines.
