Job Description
Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Accountant who has a strong command over Tally (ERP9 or Prime) and comprehensive knowledge of day-to-day accounting work. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, managing compliance, and ensuring the smooth financial functioning of the organization.
This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of taxation, and a hands-on approach to various accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, GST filing, TDS, bank reconciliation, and finalization support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tally Accounting

Enter and manage all accounting transactions in Tally ERP9 / Tally Prime, including:

Sales and purchase vouchers
-
Receipts and payments
-
Journal entries
-
Debit and credit notes
-

Create and manage ledger accounts, cost centers, and stock items.

Maintain up-to-date Tally records in a timely and accurate manner.
2. Day-to-Day Accounting Tasks
-
Handle daily bookkeeping and update books of accounts.

Perform bank reconciliation (BRS) regularly.

Manage petty cash and day-to-day cash transactions.

Reconcile party accounts and resolve mismatches in accounts receivable/payable.
3. GST & TDS Compliance
-
Calculate and file monthly/quarterly GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) using data from Tally.

Reconcile GSTR data with books and vendor filings.
-
Handle TDS deduction, payment, and return filing as per applicable deadlines.
-
Maintain all necessary tax-related records and compliance documents.
4. Financial Reporting & MIS
-
Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly reports on expenses, receivables, payables, etc.

Assist in preparing trial balance, profit and loss statement, and balance sheet.

Coordinate with external auditors for internal checks or annual audit requirements.
5. Vendor and Client Coordination
-
Manage outstanding reports, follow-up with clients for payments.

Coordinate with vendors for invoice validation, reconciliations, and payments.
-
Verify bills, quotations, and expense vouchers.
6. Inventory and Asset Management
-
Support stock/inventory reconciliation (if applicable to business type).
-
Keep records of fixed assets and depreciation (as needed).

Monitor stock reports, inward-outward entries if integrated with accounting.
7. Payroll Support (Optional)

Maintain employee attendance records or salary registers.

Support salary processing, bonus calculations, and statutory deductions (EPF/ESI).
Required Skills

Software Proficiency:
-
Expert knowledge of Tally ERP9 / Tally Prime
-
Working knowledge of MS Excel (vlookups, pivot tables preferred)

Knowledge of accounting software or ERPs is a plus

Accounting Knowledge:

Strong understanding of journal entries, ledgers, trial balance, and reconciliation

Good knowledge of GST, TDS, and basic income tax rules

Familiarity with accounting standards and documentation requirements

Strong numerical and analytical skills

Attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks

Good verbal and written communication in English/Hindi/Local language
