Job Description
Key Responsibilities:

General Accounting and Bookkeeping:
-
Maintain accurate financial records by recording day-to-day financial transactions in the general ledger.

Prepare and maintain journal entries for accruals, prepayments, and other necessary adjustments.
-
Post transactions to accounting software and verify their accuracy and completeness.
-
Reconcile accounts and ensure all transactions are properly documented.

Financial Reporting:
-
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
-
Analyze financial reports and highlight variances or unusual transactions.
-
Assist in the preparation of management reports to support decision-making.
-
Ensure that reports comply with accounting standards such as GAAP or IFRS.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:
-
Monitor and process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and outgoing payments in a timely manner.
-
Track and reconcile customer accounts, generate invoices, and ensure timely collection of receivables.
-
Resolve billing discrepancies and communicate effectively with vendors and customers.
-
Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable transactions.

Bank and Account Reconciliation:
-
Reconcile monthly bank statements to internal financial records.
-
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner.
-
Reconcile other accounts such as credit card statements, petty cash, and payroll accounts.
-

Budgeting and Forecasting:
-
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts based on historical data and business plans.
-
Track budget performance and report on variances.
-
Support department heads with budget development and monitoring.
-

Tax Compliance and Filing:
-
Prepare necessary documentation for tax filings such as VAT, GST, TDS, corporate tax, or other applicable local tax regulations.
-
Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns.
-
Maintain records to support audits or tax inquiries.
-
Stay informed about changes in tax laws and their potential impact on the business.
-

Audit Support:
-
Provide documentation and explanations required by internal or external auditors.
-
Assist in internal control evaluations and improvements.
-
Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal financial policies.
-
Address audit queries promptly and maintain accurate audit trails.
-

Asset and Inventory Management:
-
Maintain records of fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
-
Track inventory movements and adjust records for variances.
-
Ensure proper valuation of assets and inventories in line with accounting standards.
-

Internal Controls and Policy Compliance:
-
Ensure that accounting processes and procedures are aligned with company policies and best practices.
-
Identify opportunities for improving internal financial controls and help implement corrective actions.
-
Monitor transactions for potential fraud, risk, or non-compliance and report concerns as needed.

Collaboration and Support:
-
Work closely with other departments such as HR, procurement, and operations to ensure seamless financial workflows.
-
Provide financial insights and support to managers and leadership teams.
-
Train junior accounting staff or interns when required.
