Job Description

Candidates should be experienced in Tally and GST. If suitable we can offer work from home one day a week. We can call alternate days also. We can also give life insurance later. Employee should be located near the office.

Key Responsibilities:

General Accounting and Bookkeeping:
- Maintain accurate financial records by recording day-to-day financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Prepare and maintain journal entries for accruals, prepayments, and other necessary adjustments.
- Post transactions to accounting software and verify their accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile accounts and ensure all transactions are properly documented.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Analyze financial reports and highlight variances or unusual transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of management reports to support decision-making.
- Ensure that reports comply with accounting standards such as GAAP or IFRS.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Monitor and process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and outgoing payments in a timely manner.
- Track and reconcile customer accounts, generate invoices, and ensure timely collection of receivables.
- Resolve billing discrepancies and communicate effectively with vendors and customers.
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable transactions.
Bank and Account Reconciliation:
- Reconcile monthly bank statements to internal financial records.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner.
- Reconcile other accounts such as credit card statements, petty cash, and payroll accounts.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts based on historical data and business plans.
- Track budget performance and report on variances.
- Support department heads with budget development and monitoring.
Tax Compliance and Filing:
- Prepare necessary documentation for tax filings such as VAT, GST, TDS, corporate tax, or other applicable local tax regulations.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns.
- Maintain records to support audits or tax inquiries.
- Stay informed about changes in tax laws and their potential impact on the business.
Audit Support:
- Provide documentation and explanations required by internal or external auditors.
- Assist in internal control evaluations and improvements.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal financial policies.
- Address audit queries promptly and maintain accurate audit trails.
Asset and Inventory Management:
- Maintain records of fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
- Track inventory movements and adjust records for variances.
- Ensure proper valuation of assets and inventories in line with accounting standards.
Internal Controls and Policy Compliance:
- Ensure that accounting processes and procedures are aligned with company policies and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for improving internal financial controls and help implement corrective actions.
- Monitor transactions for potential fraud, risk, or non-compliance and report concerns as needed.
Collaboration and Support:

Work closely with other departments such as HR, procurement, and operations to ensure seamless financial workflows.
Provide financial insights and support to managers and leadership teams.
Train junior accounting staff or interns when required.
