Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the company’s financial processes and ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, bookkeeping, budgeting, forecasting, tax filing, internal controls, payroll, audit support, and managing accounts receivable/payable.
This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the organization by providing timely and accurate financial data, helping with decision-making, and ensuring that all statutory and regulatory requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting

Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).

Analyze financial results and variances from budgets/forecasts.

Present financial insights to management to support strategic decision-making.

Ensure timely closing of books of accounts as per company timelines.
2. Bookkeeping & General Ledger Maintenance

Maintain day-to-day accounting records using accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, SAP).

Record all financial transactions including invoices, receipts, bank payments, and journal entries.

Reconcile bank accounts, ledgers, vendor accounts, and inter-company transactions.

Monitor prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and asset depreciation schedules.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting

Assist in preparation of annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts.

Monitor actual performance against budgets and highlight deviations.
-
Work with different departments to gather cost estimates and forecasts.

Support cash flow planning and working capital management.
4. Tax Preparation and Filing
-
Ensure timely calculation and filing of all applicable taxes (GST, TDS, Income Tax, etc.).

Prepare tax returns, challans, and reconciliations for statutory payments.

Coordinate with external consultants or CAs for income tax returns, GST audits, and other filings.

Keep updated with latest tax laws, circulars, and government compliance requirements.
5. Internal Controls and Compliance

Implement and maintain effective internal control systems.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards (AS, Ind AS, IFRS if applicable) and company policies.

Monitor financial activities for any discrepancies or non-compliance issues.

Assist in designing and enforcing financial policies and procedures.
6. Audit Support

Coordinate with internal and external auditors for statutory, tax, and internal audits.

Prepare audit schedules, documentation, and reconciliations as required.

Resolve audit queries and implement corrective actions post audit observations.

Maintain proper documentation and records for all financial transactions.
7. Payroll Processing
-
Process monthly payroll including salaries, bonuses, and statutory deductions (PF, ESI, PT).

Calculate tax deductions and generate salary slips or pay reports.
-
Maintain employee payroll records and coordinate with HR on attendance/leave data.
-
Ensure timely filing of payroll-related returns (Form 16, ECR, etc.).
8. Accounts Payable & Receivable
-
Monitor accounts payable to ensure timely payment of vendor bills and invoices.
-
Manage accounts receivable by following up with clients for payments and credit control.

Reconcile supplier and customer statements regularly.
-
Maintain aging reports and assist in improving collection efficiency.
Required Skills
-
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial practices
-
Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, Zoho, Busy, etc.)

Good knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory laws

Ability to prepare financial statements and interpret financial data
-
Familiarity with Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables), MS Word, and Email Tools
-
Attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines
-
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
