Job Description
Position Overview:
The Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing financial transactions, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, and maintaining compliance with tax laws and accounting standards. This role involves recording and reconciling financial data, preparing reports, handling invoices, and supporting the overall financial health of the company. The accountant will collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient financial management and assist in budgeting, forecasting, and auditing.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Record Keeping:

General Ledger Management: Record all financial transactions in the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and receipts.

Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial transactions are accurately documented in the accounting system.

Data Entry: Accurately enter financial transactions into accounting software, ensuring timely and precise recordkeeping.
2. Financial Reporting:

Preparation of Financial Statements: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections to support business planning.

Tax Preparation: Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.

Variance Analysis: Analyze variances between actual and budgeted financial results and provide insights to management.
3. Compliance & Internal Controls:

Ensure Compliance: Ensure financial records and practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.

Internal Audits: Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings.

Accounting Policies: Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures to ensure effective internal controls.
4. Payroll Management (if applicable):

Payroll Processing: Process payroll, ensuring timely payment of salaries, deductions, and other compensations.

Employee Benefits: Handle deductions and adjustments for employee benefits, taxes, and other payroll-related processes.
5. Financial Analysis & Recommendations:

Cost Analysis: Perform cost analyses and assist in identifying areas for cost reduction and process improvements.

Financial Insights: Provide insights and recommendations to management on financial performance and financial strategies.

Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and ensure the company has enough liquidity to meet its financial obligations.
6. Vendor & Client Management:

Vendor Payments: Process and track payments to vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate settlement of accounts.

Client Invoicing: Manage invoicing for clients, ensuring accurate billing and timely collection of payments.

Dispute Resolution: Address any discrepancies or issues related to accounts payable/receivable with vendors or clients.
