Job Description
We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team at SS Construction. The ideal candidate should have basic accounting knowledge, be organized, and capable of handling day-to-day financial tasks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Transactions and Bookkeeping

Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in the accounting software or manual ledger.

Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable operations, including vendor payments and client invoicing.

Maintain general ledger entries, journal entries, and support documentation.

Perform daily financial postings and ensure that all entries are properly recorded.
2. Bank and Account Reconciliation

Reconcile bank statements and other financial records regularly.

Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.

Ensure that all transactions are aligned with the organization's policies and procedures.
3. Financial Reporting

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities in collaboration with the finance team.

Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely reporting to management or external agencies.
4. Taxation and Compliance

Support tax preparation and filing processes (GST, TDS, income tax, etc.).

Maintain up-to-date records to comply with statutory requirements and audits.

Assist with regulatory compliance and respond to audits or internal reviews when required.
5. Payroll and Expense Management

Support payroll processing and ensure timely disbursement of salaries.

Monitor employee reimbursement claims and expense reports.

Maintain financial control over travel, petty cash, and other operational expenses.
6. Inventory and Asset Accounting

Maintain records of company assets, inventory, and depreciation schedules.

Track purchases and stock movement for accurate cost accounting and reporting.
7. Communication and Coordination
-
Liaise with vendors, clients, auditors, banks, and government departments as required.

Collaborate with other departments to provide financial data and insights for decision-making.

Support the Finance Manager or Head Accountant in strategic and operational tasks.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field.

Basic to intermediate understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.

Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or similar tools.

Solid knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, basic formulas) and general computer skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in numerical work.

Good communication skills and ability to explain financial data clearly.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.

Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
