Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accountant with a strong background in day-to-day accounting, payroll, and taxation, specifically in the bar and restaurant industry. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience managing financial records, handling statutory compliance, preparing reports, and ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. Familiarity with GST, Income Tax, TDS, PF, and ESIC regulations is essential.
The role requires someone detail-oriented, responsible, and well-versed in managing accounts for a high-transaction, customer-facing hospitality business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Day-to-Day Accounting Operations:

Maintain and update daily financial transactions including sales, purchases, expenses, and payments.

Record entries in Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or other accounting software.

Reconcile daily cash, bank deposits, POS receipts, and credit card transactions.

Prepare and manage day books, ledgers, trial balance, and general accounting tasks.

Track inventory purchases and consumption related to food, beverages, and bar supplies.
2. Payroll Management:

Process monthly payroll for all staff including waiters, chefs, bartenders, and managers.

Ensure accurate calculation of salary, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.

Handle compliance with labour laws related to PF, ESIC, professional tax, etc.

Maintain employee records and coordinate with HR for attendance and leave management.
3. Taxation & Statutory Compliance:

Prepare and file monthly and quarterly GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.).

Handle TDS calculations and ensure timely filing of TDS returns.

Assist in Income Tax filings and advance tax payments.
-
Ensure timely PF and ESIC payments and return submissions.
-
Stay updated with the latest changes in taxation laws affecting hospitality businesses.
4. MIS & Financial Reporting:

Generate monthly financial statements including Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.

Prepare MIS reports for management including daily sales summary, cost analysis, and profitability.

Analyze food and beverage costs, wastage, and variances to assist in decision-making.
5. Vendor and Payment Management:

Track vendor invoices and manage accounts payable.

Prepare payment schedules and ensure timely settlement to suppliers and contractors.

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
6. Audit Support:

Coordinate with internal and external auditors during tax audits, statutory audits, or inspections.

Ensure all accounting records, vouchers, and tax filings are in order for review.

Address auditor queries and assist in finalization of accounts.
Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com), Finance, Accounting or related field. Candidates with M.Com, CA Inter, or accounting certifications will have an added advantage. -
Experience:
Minimum 2–5 years of experience in accounting and taxation, preferably in the bar, restaurant, or hospitality industry. -
Industry Knowledge:
Familiarity with the operational and accounting processes specific to food and beverage businesses, such as handling multiple revenue streams, service charge, inventory costing, and discounts.
Essential Skills:

Strong knowledge of Tally ERP, Excel, and GST & TDS portals.

Clear understanding of PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, and labour compliance.

Ability to work independently and handle multiple responsibilities.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Familiarity with POS systems, online food delivery aggregators, and their financial reconciliations.

Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Experience working in a fast-paced bar, café, club, or multi-location restaurant.

Proactive approach in suggesting cost-control measures and operational improvements.
