Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, taxation (especially GST), budget planning, internal controls, audits, team supervision, and ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in aligning financial operations with business goals and maintaining a high standard of accuracy, accountability, and transparency across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Accounting and Bookkeeping

Manage day-to-day accounting operations, general ledger, and trial balance.

Ensure timely and accurate posting of journal entries, bank transactions, and adjustments.

Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.

Review balance sheet reconciliations and rectify discrepancies.
2. GST, Taxation, and Statutory Compliance

Ensure accurate computation, filing, and payment of GST, TDS, and other statutory dues.

Manage returns such as GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, and TDS filings on time.

Coordinate with external consultants or CA firms for tax planning and compliance.

Stay updated with the latest tax laws, government policies, and finance-related circulars.
3. Financial Reporting and Analysis

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual MIS reports, profit and loss statements, and financial summaries for management review.

Analyze variances between actuals and budget and provide explanations and recommendations.

Support decision-making by providing accurate financial data and forecasts.
4. Budgeting and Cost Control

Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.

Monitor expenses against approved budgets and flag irregularities.

Recommend cost-saving initiatives and help improve financial efficiency.
5. Audit and Internal Controls

Liaise with external/internal auditors for statutory and internal audits.

Prepare audit schedules and ensure timely completion of audits.

Implement and maintain effective internal control systems to prevent fraud or misappropriation.

Conduct regular reviews of accounting processes for compliance and accuracy.
6. Team Leadership and Development
-
Supervise and guide the accounts team (e.g., accountants, assistants, billing staff).

Allocate tasks, set performance expectations, and ensure timely completion of assignments.

Conduct performance reviews and assist in team training and professional development.

Ensure the team maintains high levels of integrity and professionalism.
7. Billing, Receivables & Payables
-
Oversee invoicing and billing cycles, including GST-compliant invoice generation.

Ensure timely follow-up on receivables and reconciliation with customer accounts.

Monitor vendor payments, verify purchase bills, and maintain AP aging reports.
8. Software and Process Management
-
Manage accounting and ERP software like Tally (ERP 9 / Prime), Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or any custom ERP.
-
Automate reporting and process flows wherever possible.
-
Ensure data accuracy, backup, and digital record-keeping.
