Newsreader-cum-Translator (Indian Languages) job position in All India Radio (Prasar Bharati) in Kashmiri, Sanskrit and Urdu on casual assignment basis
Essential Qualification : 1. Graduate of a recognised University. 2. Proficiency in the language for which to be empanelled. 3. Having a voice of good quality suited to broadcasting. Desirable Qualification : 1. Experience of journalistic work in Radio/TV. 2. Knowledge of basic computer applications
Nature of Job : Translation from English to respective Indian languages and reading the News Bulletins in the respective languages
Age : Not less than 21 years and not more than 45 years as on 30.6.2016.
Note : The applicant may note that working on casual assignment basis for NSD:AIR will not confer any right for regularization of services in this organization. The booking will be offered from time to time on the basis of the requirements of the organization and will not normally exceed six days in a month
Application Fee : The candidates are required to deposit application processing fee (non-refundable) at the following rates, along with the applications, through Bank Draft payable in favour of PB: DG(News), NSD, AIR, New Delhi

Method of Selection : (a) The Selection procedure comprises two stages (1) written test (2) voice tesA & interview, to assess the professional competence and knowledge of the candidate in concerned language. Each test carries 100 marks. The syllabus for the written test includes translation from English to respective language and vice-versa, short notes on current affairs and general knowledge etc. All the questions are to be answered in the language for which the candidate is appearing. The duration of the written test will be three hours. Candidates securing marks 50% and above in the written examination will be called for Voice test and those who qualified in the voice test will be called for interview
