Job Description
Position Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and analytical-minded Analytical Engineer to join our engineering or research and development team. The Analytical Engineer is responsible for conducting technical evaluations, simulations, and analyses to ensure the functionality, safety, and efficiency of systems, structures, or products.
This role is essential in transforming raw data and theoretical models into actionable engineering insights. The successful candidate will apply engineering fundamentals, mathematical modeling, computer simulations, and analytical tools to evaluate physical behaviors under various operating conditions. The role may span mechanical analysis (stress, strain, heat), fluid dynamics, structural integrity, material behavior, or multi-physics simulations depending on the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engineering Analysis and Simulation:
-
Perform finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), or other simulation-based evaluations to assess stress, strain, temperature, fatigue, flow, vibration, or pressure effects.
-
Model engineering problems using software tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL, HyperMesh, NASTRAN, SolidWorks Simulation, or similar platforms.
-
Interpret and validate results by comparing them with analytical calculations, test data, or industry standards.
-
Provide design recommendations based on analysis results to improve product performance, durability, and reliability.
2. Data Collection and Technical Evaluation:
-
Analyze technical data from prototypes, field tests, or production feedback.
-
Assist in defining test parameters and analyzing test results to validate theoretical models.
-
Create custom models or scripts using tools like MATLAB, Python, or Excel to evaluate engineering equations and performance characteristics.
3. Collaboration with Design and R&D Teams:
-
Work closely with product designers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure analytical insight is integrated into product development.
-
Participate in design reviews, provide analytical support during the concept and development phases, and help resolve design challenges.
-
Develop design guidelines and standards based on previous analysis and validation data.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
-
Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and visualizations of analysis results, simulations, and conclusions.
-
Document assumptions, methodologies, and constraints used during analysis to ensure traceability and reproducibility.
-
Create and maintain a knowledge base or database of analysis templates and validated models.
5. Process Improvement and Tool Development:
-
Identify opportunities to automate analysis workflows or reduce modeling time.
-
Contribute to the development of internal tools, macros, or scripts to streamline repetitive tasks.
-
Stay up to date with the latest tools, techniques, and materials relevant to the field.
6. Compliance and Standards:
-
Ensure all analyses and reports are in compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO, ASME, IEC, etc.).
-
Perform safety and failure risk analysis (e.g., FMEA, FEA-based failure predictions).
-
Support regulatory or certification processes by providing analytical evidence.
