Minimum qualifications:
- Master's degree in a human research-oriented field (e.g., Linguistics, Cognitive Science, Social Science) or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years experience in Linguistics, Language Studies, or related fields.
- 2 years of industry experience in project management coupled with a background in information management, online shopping, or linguistics.
- Experience writing code (e.g. SQL, R, Python, etc.).
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience designing and implementing data-based research experiments.
- Experience in crowdsourcing and survey design.
- Knowledge of advertiser and user needs.
- Creative thinker, detail oriented, with exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with engineers and statisticians to devise and run experiments to answer specific questions about advertising and product quality.
- Create interfaces and write instructions to collect labeled data from our rater workforce. Evaluate launch decisions, train models, and monitor quality metrics.
- Design and implement data and worker quality control methodology, experiments, and improvements.
- Conduct analysis and reports using Python, XML/CSS, HTML/JavaScript, database queries (e.g., SQL), R, and Google-internal technologies.
- Build ads products for markets by generating new types of labelled data and improve ads quality thru better keyword translation and transliteration.
