Job Description

Role & responsibilities:

• Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code
• Design, build and maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable Java code
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
• Help maintain code quality, organization, test units, QA Automation
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

Candidate Attributes:

• Excellent knowledge in core Java.
• Worked in a product & service environment.
• Previous experience in startup/eCommerce
• Hands-on experience in the full life cycle of Android application development.
• Experience on mobile app templating, prototyping, gathering requirements, development effort estimation processes.
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, form factors and material design.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
• Excellent knowledge of working with dynamic data (e.g., JSON, XML) through various interface types (e.g., REST, SOAP), Google Locations, Maps API & third-party libraries.
• Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
• Ability to design applications around natural user interfaces, such as touch
• Familiarity with the use of additional sensors, such as gyroscopes and accelerometers
• Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architecture, trends, and emerging technologies
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
• A knack for benchmarking and optimization
• Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Hands on experience with Android studio & Gradle build system
• Familiarity with continuous integration
• Eclipse & ANT based build system
• Knowledge of Junit/Unit testing.
