Application Developer/Analyst

We have an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new application development team here at Medline! This application developer position is focused on the development, support, and integration of business applications and databases, including custom-developed enterprise applications and vendor solutions. Software will be developed primarily using OutSystems, a Rapid Application and Low-Code development framework.

Responsibilities

• Assists team members in the elicitation and refinement of project business requirements to develop and modify computer applications.
  
• Assists in translating business requirements to technical designs and specifications.
  
• Develop and debug computer-based solutions of moderate complexity.
  
• Develop, execute, and document test plans.
  
• Define coding best practices and standards and educate other on these practices.
  
• Work with quality assurance job functions (product owners, analysts and end users) to ensure developed solutions meet required specifications.
  
• Actively participate in project meetings and discussions.
  
• Support production computer-based solutions.
  
• Work with end-users to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  
• Work with end-users to clarify systems procedures and functions.
  
• When required, provide technical and business leadership within a project framework.
  
• Submit status report on periodic basis.
  
• Adhere to organization project and work management guidelines

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Self-starter, able to work individually and/or within a project framework.
  
• Detail-oriented and organized; can complete projects one at a time and simultaneously.
  
• Ability to utilize computer-based design and analysis tools and techniques while developing computer-based solutions of low to moderate complexity.
  
• High interest in developing business applications using low-code or Rapid Application Development methodologies.
  
• Ability to be creative to help invent new ways of approaching problems and developing innovative applications.
  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  
• Comfortable performing in a fast pace environment with agile development, prototyping, and continuous feedback and communication keys to success.
  

Computer Language Tools

• 5-7 years of experience building UIs with JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
  
• Experience with .NET technologies a plus
  
• Working knowledge of React JavaScript UI Framework a plus.
  
• Experience developing and integrating applications using REST/SOAP web services.
  
• Experience with OutSystems a plus.
  
• Experience developing SQL Server T/SQL including stored procedures, functions, views, query optimization.
  
• Experience with Data Modeling.
  
• Experience with Agile development methodology.
  
• Experience developing and supporting applications in a business environment.
  

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science/Systems, or strongly related area of study.
