Qualification: Candidates scored above 50% marks in SSLC/
Matriculation/ X th class or equivalent and above 65% marks in the ITI (SCUT or
NCVT)
Age : 14-21 yrs
Stipend:
As per Govt. of India notification. At present, selected
candidates are paid eighty/ ninety percent of minimum wage of semi-skilled
workers as notified by the Govt. of Karnataka/ NCVT guidelines (Rs. 8320/- to
Rs. 93601- per month as on 01 Jul 2017).
Physical
Standards: Physical standards should be in accordance with
the Apprentices Act, 1961 and should be satisfying minimum standards as
mentioned below:
For
Male: Height minimum — 150 cms, Weight minimum — 45 Kgs, Chest
Expansion- 5 cms and Eye Sight 6/6 to 6/9 (6/9 corrected with glasses).
For
Female: Height minimum — 137 cms, Weight minimum —25.4 Kgs and Eye
Sight 6/6 to 6/9 (6/9 corrected with glasses). Candidates should be medically
fit and external/ internal organs normal. Medical examination shall be
conducted at Karwar for the qualified candidates.
Selection
Procedure: A Call letter for written examination will be
issued to all eligible candidates on their registered email ID. Written
examination would be objective type based on Mathematics, General Science and
General Knowledge. A merit list shall be prepared on the basis of written
examination. Candidates in the order of merit would be called for document
verification/ interview in various trades and applicable reservation categories
Candidates cleared in document verification/ interview will have to undergo
medical examination. Only those candidates called for document verification/
interview will be paid second class train fare from home/ joumey station to
Karwar on production of original railway/ bus ticket. Candidates qualifying
written test are to sufficiently be prepared to accommodate themselves at their
own arrangements for 3-4 days in case of spillover of interview and medical
examination.
