Key Responsibility

Lead projects associated to the enhancement upgrade/patching, or implementation of new or existing technology solutions.
Day to day maintenance of I-series servers of the client
Have experience in HMC (Hardware Management Console) operations for I series Servers
Familiar with Server Space maintenance including knowledge of adding / deleting space for I series servers using IBM partitioning method
Able to Delete / create users in the I series environment on a need basis
Perform operating system and/or application software updates in a timely and thoughtful fashion and in compliance with IT policies, procedures and plans.
Design, implement and maintain a comprehensive monitoring and alerting process across the IBM i-platform.
Monitor and manage backups.
Maintain compliance to all IT policies and procedures.
Maintain 24x7 availability to address critical business and/or IT issues.

Qualifications

3-8 years experience
IBM I-series / AS 400 administration
Familiarity with Unix operating systems & IBM I series operating systems (OS/400, etc)
Familiarity with Databases (Oracle and DB2)
Knowledge of I-series programming would be an added advantage (RPG, RPGCLE, COBOL)
Knowledge of Server Back-up Tools & Server Partitioning Tools
3+ years in the Industry with exposure to IBM servers / I Series /AS 400 systems
Has performed at least one major system hardware upgrade
Has performed at least one major operating system upgrade
Has performed at least one full system restore (site-down / crash).
Experience in using journaling, especially remote journaling.
