Assistant Language Officer

Qualification: The minimum educational qualification is master degree securing 50, marks in Arts from any recognized University.
Other Essential Qualification : The candidate must be capable of translating any matter from both Assamese to English and English to Assamese and must have good command over Assamese and English Languages and adequate knowledge of Computer application with DTP
Scale of Pay : Rs. 8,000-35,000/- + Grade Pay Rs. 5,100/-P.M. in Pay Band -3 and admissible allowances.
Deputy Marshal
No. of Post : 1
Qualification: The minimum educational qualification is graduate in Arts, Science or Commerce from any recognized University with NCC ''C" Certificate.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 8,000-35,000/- + Grade Pay Rs., 4.500/-P.M. in Pay Band -3 and admissible allowances.
Bengali Reporter Gr.-II

Scale of Pay : Rs. 8,000- 35,000/- +Grade Pay Rs. 4,300/-P.M. in Pay Band -3 and admissible allowances.
Qualification : Pre-University passed or its equivalent Examination passed from any recognized University or Board with minimum speed of 100 words per minute in (Bengali) Stenography. Speed Test shall be conducted by a Selection Committee to be nominated by the Speaker.
Other essential qualification: The candidate must have adequate knowledge of Computer application with DTP in Bengali.
Assistant Librarian

Qualification : The minimum educational qualification is graduate in Arts, Science or Commerce and Bachelor Degree in Library Science from any recognized University.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 5,200-20,200/- + Grade Pay Rs. 3,300/-PM. in Pay Band -2 and admissible allowances.
Steno Grade-III(English)
No. of Post : 1
Qualification : Pre-University passed or its equivalent Examination passed from any recognized University or Board with minimum speed of 00 words per minute in (English) Stenography. Speed Test shall be conducted by a Selection Committee to be nominated by the Speaker.
Other essential qualification : The candidate must have adequate knowledge of Computer application with DTP in English.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 5.200-20.200/- + Grade Pay Rs. 2,800/-PM. in Pay Band -2 and admissible allowances.
Typist (BODO)

Qualification : Pre-University passed in Bodo Language and its equivalent Examination passed from any recognized University/Board. Speed Test shall be conducted by a Selection Committee to be nominated by the Speaker.
Other essential qualification: The candidate most have adequate knowledge of Computer application with DTP in Bodo with minimum speed of 45 words per minute.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 5,200-20,200/- + Grade Pay Rs. 2,400/-PM. in Pay Band -2 and admissible allowances.
Generator Machine Operator

Qualification : H.S.L.C. Examination or its equivalent Examination passed from any recognized Board/ University with diploma in Electrical from ITI.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 5,200-20,200/- + Grade Pay Rs. 2.200/-P.M. in Pay Band -2 and admissible allowances.
Age Limit : As per Office Memorandum of Personnel (13) Department, Govt. of Assam, dated Dispur, the 3rd March, 2016, the candidate must not be less than 18(Eighteen) years and not more than 43 (Forty Three) years (in case of General and OBC/MOBC candidates) as on 01-01-2016. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ ST (P) and ST (H) candidates as per prevailing Govt. Rule.
Deposit Fee : The Examination Fee of Rs. 20/- for General and OBC/MOBC and Fee of Rs.10/- for reserved categories shall have to be deposited by Treasury Challan under Head of Account "0070- other Administrative Services" 60- other services, 800-other Receipts (10). And the duplicate challan copy must be enclosed with the application. Examination fee deposited by any other way shall not be entertained.

The Assam Legislative Assembly came into being on the day of its first sitting on April 7, 1937 in the Assembly Chamber at Shillong, the erstwhile Capital of the composite State of Assam. Situated in the North East of the Country, Assam has had a glorious history of her own. Popularly known as the ethnological museum of India, Assam has been described as Mini-India, having a rich cultural heritage with diverse race, religion and culture. Assam under the provisions of India Council Act, 1861 did not have its own democratic institution but was tagged with East Bengal in 1905 and the Institution was then called "Legislative Council of Eastern Bengal and Assam", which started functioning from December 18, 1906. In 1909, the Council had a strength of 40 members and out of 40 seats, Assam was allotted 5 seats. In 1912 Assam was reconstituted into a Chief Commissioners' province. In the year 1913, after Assam was granted a Legislative Council under the Government of India Act. 1909, the Assam Legislative Council came into being with a strength of 34 members of which 13 were nominated by the Chief Commissioner and 21 were elected by the people. The Legislative Council of Assam first met on 6th January, 1913 at 11 a.m. at Shillong, which was presided over by Sir Archdale Easle, the Chief Commissioner of Assam. Under the Government of India Act. 1919, the strength of the Legislative Council was raised to 53 members with effect from Ist April, 1921 of which 41 were elected members and the remaining 12 were nominated.
