Core Responsibilities

• Standardization and Naming Conventions: Create clear, structured alphanumeric codes for equipment, valves, pipes, instruments, and IT hardware. [1, 2]

• System Integration: Link physical identification labels (barcodes, QR codes, or RFID tags) to computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms. [1, 2]

• Lifecycle Traceability: Ensure every asset maintains a single source of truth from initial design drawings and digital twins through field operation and final disposal. [1]

• Material Selection: Choose durable tags (such as metal nameplates, destructible security labels, or industrial RFID) capable of surviving harsh operating environments like extreme heat, chemicals, or outdoor weather.
