SBU: Industrial Packaging
Grade: E1 (40000 - 140000)
Minimum Qualification: Full time regular Degree in Engineering with specialization in Mechanical
Minimum Experience (Years): 1 year as on 21.05.2021
Preferred Experience: Candidates with 3 years in Shop Floor based Engineering & Supervision role at Semi-automatic Manufacturing Plant having Batch Production shall be preferred
Indicative Job Description:
The incumbent will be responsible for –
a. Ensure optimal utilization of the automated plant to exceed the daily, weekly, monthly annual targets for production, maintenance, quality, yields, savings and all other production related parameters, target zero re-work/ return of products/WIP
b. Acquire hands-on training, read through machine manuals, drawings, process documents, observe, analyze functioning of each and every machine & equipment incl. electrical & PLC interfaces, utilities, and related maintenance/change procedures to obtain complete knowledge of the entire manufacturing capability of the plant
c. This being a shop-floor based role, devote majority of time and highly focused attention as required for achievement of the targets – engage in/ lead hands-on machine operation/ maintenance/ data-collection/ quality checks/trouble-shooting etc. by directly, physically intervening at required section of the shop floor
d. Ensure zero wastage of Company resources/ production inputs/ damage to material/machinery/ Equipment/ wastage of energy/ time due to gaps in planning/communication/ understanding/ raw material shortage/ insufficient supervision/lack of knowledge about machine properties & spare requirements/ customer requirements/ raw material properties/ supply issues etc.
e. Ensure each and every product completely complies with customer requirements as contractually accepted by the Company, addressing/ escalating issues in timely fashion, if any
f. Build enduring synergies along with procurement/ stores/ sales administration/marketing/ maintenance/ departmental colleagues, subordinates, superiors, contractors etc. to understand requirements, strengths and idiosyncrasies of each of the stake holders their processes; devising, implementing workplans accordingly
g. Ensure full availability of own efforts and competencies to reach the targets, attend to stretch requirements as essential beyond normal hours/ on holiday/ off-days etc. deploying own physical and mental resources, engineering aptitude etc. to the fully
h. Identify and implement focused improvement projects by motivating subordinates and own initiative for improvement of plant parameters
i. Devise intelligent production plans as per the periodic sales plans taking in to account customer requirements and raw material/ resource availability, change-over requirements etc.
j. Motivate, supervise, train, counsel, correct shop-floor production resources as required for realization of plant targets
Place of Posting: The initial place of posting may be in Taloja (Navi Mumbai). However, candidates may be placed at any of the locations in India or abroad where the Company or its Joint Ventures has its operations and the decision on the matter shall be made at the time of joining at the sole discretion of the Company depending on the exigencies of work. The Company reserves the right to create a panel through empanelment of candidates if more than one candidate is found suitable and offer employment opportunity to such empaneled candidate(s) in future in similar role at same or different locations.
