Job Description

Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager – Sales plays a key role in driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and achieving sales targets for the company. This role involves managing client relationships, supervising sales teams (if applicable), developing business strategies, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. The Assistant Manager is expected to work closely with senior management to plan and implement sales campaigns, monitor market trends, and maintain strong relationships with both existing and potential customers.

Ideal candidates for this position are goal-oriented, have strong leadership qualities, and are skilled in B2B or B2C sales, depending on the industry. The role combines fieldwork, strategic planning, and client interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales Target Achievement

  • Assist in developing and executing sales plans to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.

  • Monitor sales performance metrics and take corrective actions when required.

  • Generate leads, follow up on inquiries, and convert prospects into customers.

  • Ensure proper product positioning and pricing strategies are followed in the assigned territory or segment.

2. Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Identify potential customers, decision-makers, and influencers in target markets.

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts and clients to foster repeat business.

  • Understand client requirements and recommend appropriate solutions or products to meet their needs.

  • Resolve customer complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner.

3. Sales Team Coordination (if applicable)

  • Guide and motivate junior sales staff or field executives to improve individual and team performance.

  • Assist in onboarding and training new sales executives.

  • Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing regular feedback and coaching as needed.

4. Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of all client interactions, proposals, quotations, and sales orders.

  • Prepare and submit sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis to the Sales Manager.

  • Analyze competitor activity, pricing strategies, and customer trends to inform sales tactics.

5. Market Development and Strategy

  • Identify new business opportunities in untapped markets, including new sectors, regions, or customer segments.

  • Assist in designing and implementing promotional campaigns and marketing initiatives to support sales.

  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and networking events as needed.

6. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the marketing, product, and operations teams to ensure alignment in sales strategies and customer service.

  • Coordinate with the logistics and finance teams for timely delivery, invoicing, and payment follow-ups.

  • Provide feedback to the product team regarding customer preferences and market needs.

7. CRM and Sales Tools

  • Use CRM software to track leads, manage client databases, and monitor the sales pipeline.

  • Ensure all sales activities and customer data are updated accurately in the system.
