To ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation of all plant machinery, process equipment, utilities, and engineering systems through effective preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance. The position is responsible for minimizing equipment downtime, improving equipment reliability, maintaining GMP and EHS compliance, and supporting engineering projects, qualification, validation, and continuous improvement activities in the API manufacturing facility. 2. Key Responsibilities A. Maintenance Operations Plan, execute, and monitor preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities for API manufacturing equipment. Ensure maximum availability and reliability of critical process and utility equipment. Attend equipment breakdowns and ensure timely restoration of equipment. Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions. Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for reliability improvement. Coordinate with Production, QA, QC, EHS, Utilities, and other departments for maintenance activities. Ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely and with minimum impact on production. Supervise technicians, operators, contractors, and service engineers during maintenance activities. B. API Process Equipment Maintain and support equipment such as: Reactors and agitated vessels. SS/GLASS-LINED reactors and storage tanks. Centrifuges and Nutsche filter dryers. ANFD / agitated filter dryer systems. Vacuum systems and ejectors. Solvent recovery systems. Dryers and associated equipment. Blenders and mills. Pumps, gearboxes, agitators, mechanical seals, and couplings. Heat exchangers, condensers, chillers, and cooling systems. Scrubbers and associated pollution-control equipment. Material-handling and conveying systems. C. Utility & Facility Maintenance Ensure maintenance and availability of critical utilities, including: Boilers and steam distribution systems. Chillers and cooling towers. Compressed air systems. Nitrogen systems. Vacuum systems. HVAC and ventilation systems. DG sets and electrical utility systems. DM/RO/water-treatment systems. Effluent and waste-treatment equipment. Monitor utility equipment performance and coordinate preventive maintenance. Support energy-saving and utility optimization initiatives. D. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Prepare and execute annual/monthly preventive maintenance plans. Ensure timely completion of PM activities according to approved schedules. Develop equipment checklists and maintenance standards. Monitor equipment history and identify repetitive failures. Utilize condition-monitoring techniques such as vibration monitoring, thermography, lubrication analysis, and other applicable techniques. Maintain equipment history cards and maintenance records. Track PM compliance and overdue maintenance. E. GMP & Documentation Ensure all maintenance activities comply with GMP, SOPs, GDP, EHS requirements, and site procedures. Prepare and maintain maintenance-related SOPs, work instructions, checklists, and formats. Ensure proper and contemporaneous documentation of maintenance activities. Raise and close maintenance work orders in CMMS/SAP or applicable systems. Participate in deviation investigations related to equipment failures. Support CAPA implementation and effectiveness checks. Participate in change control activities related to equipment and engineering modifications. Ensure maintenance records are complete, accurate, traceable, and audit-ready. F. Qualification & Validation Support equipment qualification activities such as: DQ – Design Qualification. IQ – Installation Qualification. OQ – Operational Qualification. PQ – Performance Qualification, where applicable. Coordinate with QA/Validation teams for equipment qualification and requalification. Review engineering documents, drawings, manuals, specifications, and qualification protocols. Support periodic review and requalification of critical equipment. Ensure engineering changes are implemented through approved change-control procedures. G. Breakdown Analysis & Reliability Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major and repetitive equipment failures. Use appropriate
