Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Academic Delivery

Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for undergraduate (B.Pharm) and postgraduate (M.Pharm) students.

Use modern teaching methodologies such as presentations, smart boards, and digital platforms to improve learning outcomes.

Develop lesson plans, study materials, and academic schedules aligned with the syllabus prescribed by the university or regulatory body.

Evaluate students through internal assessments, practical exams, and viva voce.

Encourage students to actively participate in classroom discussions and research-based learning.
2. Laboratory Supervision
-
Guide students in pharmacy laboratory experiments related to pharmaceutics, pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, pharmacognosy, and pharmaceutical analysis.

Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and chemicals.

Maintain safety protocols and ensure students follow laboratory guidelines strictly.

Assist students in compounding, formulation development, drug testing, and analytical techniques.
3. Research & Publications

Conduct research in pharmaceutical sciences and contribute to innovation in drug development, formulations, and clinical pharmacy.

Publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at national and international conferences.

Collaborate with other faculty members, research institutes, and industry experts to promote applied research and innovation.

Guide students in preparing research projects, dissertations, and review papers.
4. Curriculum Development
-
Assist in updating the curriculum, syllabus, and teaching methodologies as per industry trends and AICTE/PCI guidelines.

Integrate emerging technologies such as nanotechnology, biotechnology, clinical trials, and pharmacovigilance into the academic framework.

Suggest improvements to make the program more industry-relevant and job-oriented.
5. Student Mentorship & Guidance

Act as a mentor and counselor for pharmacy students regarding academics, career choices, and research opportunities.

Encourage students to participate in seminars, workshops, industrial visits, and conferences.

Support students preparing for GPAT, NIPER, UPSC, and other competitive exams.
-
Help students secure internships, placements, and higher education opportunities.
6. Administrative & Institutional Support
-
Participate in departmental meetings, academic planning, and faculty development programs.

Assist in organizing conferences, guest lectures, and workshops.

Handle responsibilities such as exam coordination, attendance monitoring, and student records management.

Support accreditation processes such as NBA, NAAC, PCI inspections, and AICTE compliance.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Knowledge

Strong understanding of pharmaceutical sciences including pharmaceutics, pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutical biotechnology, and quality control.

Hands-on experience with modern lab instruments like HPLC, UV spectrophotometers, dissolution apparatus, and stability chambers.

Familiarity with pharmacy laws, drug regulations, clinical trials, and pharmacovigilance.
Teaching & Communication Skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and local language.

Ability to simplify complex pharmaceutical concepts for easy student understanding.

Expertise in using digital teaching platforms like Google Classroom, MS Teams, or Moodle.
Research & Analytical Skills

Knowledge of scientific research methodologies and statistical data analysis.
