Assistant Supervisor
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Support and Coordination:
-
Assist the Supervisor in managing day-to-day operations, ensuring the team is productive and focused on assigned tasks.

Help assign duties and responsibilities to team members based on work requirements and employee capabilities.
-
Monitor attendance, punctuality, and general conduct of team members; report any irregularities to the Supervisor.
-
Provide guidance and instruction to new or less-experienced team members.
2. Operational Oversight:
-
Ensure work is completed on schedule, meets quality standards, and complies with internal processes and safety protocols.
-
Support the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
-
Report delays, shortages, or issues in workflow to the Supervisor and assist in resolving them efficiently.
-
Maintain records of daily output, performance, and shift activity as required.
3. Quality and Compliance Monitoring:
-
Conduct spot checks and basic quality control to ensure that all work meets required specifications.
-
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety guidelines, and industry regulations.
-
Participate in audits and inspections, assisting the Supervisor in preparing necessary documentation or evidence.
4. Communication and Reporting:
-
Act as a point of contact between team members and upper management in the absence of the Supervisor.

Relay instructions, updates, and policy changes clearly and professionally to the team.

Submit basic reports on production, performance, and incidents to the Supervisor or Manager.

Encourage open communication and address team concerns promptly, escalating issues when needed.
5. Training and Development:
-
Assist in onboarding and training new employees on job responsibilities, safety procedures, and company policies.

Support continuous improvement by suggesting better methods of performing tasks or solving recurring problems.

Provide constructive feedback to team members and encourage skill development and cross-training.
6. Inventory and Resource Management (if applicable):
-
Help monitor inventory levels of tools, equipment, and supplies to ensure continuous workflow.

Notify appropriate personnel of shortages, damaged items, or reordering needs.
-
Assist in organizing and maintaining storage areas for efficiency and safety.
7. Safety and Workplace Conduct:
-
Promote and enforce a culture of safety by ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
-
Report hazards, incidents, or unsafe behaviors to the Supervisor or Safety Officer.

Ensure that all team members wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow company health and safety standards.
