Essential qualifications for all the above posts (EQ): Candidates with Ph.D. degree with at least two years of post-doctoral experience** with some recognition amongst scientists in his/her area of specialization by the merit or his/her publications. The candidate should have proven ability of guiding research of junior workers, ability to communicate and interact with other scientists, and flexibility of outlook and attitude to take independent charge of assigned sub areas belonging to a major project or broad area of research of the Institute. [The selected candidate is also expected to participate in the existing teaching programme of SINP.]

Experience in the related field and desirable qualifications (DQ):

For Applied Nuclear Physics Division: The successful candidate should have excellent experimental research record in one or more of the following: dark matter search, neutrinoless double beta decay and neutrino physics.

For AstroParticle Physics & Cosmology Division: Proven records of expertise in modeling, simulations and data analysis in any of the following areas of theoretical/observational astroparticle physics and cosmology: i) supernovae and neutron stars, ii) dark matter and dark energy, iii) neutrino astrophysics, iv) very high energy gamma rays and cosmic rays, v) gravitational waves and vi) phenomenological cosmology.

For Biophysics and Structural Genomics Division: Proven expertise in application of Biophysical techniques in studying Cancer and related disorders.

For Condensed Matter Physics Division: Candidates with proven research experience in any forefront areas of condensed matter physics (theory or experiment), as evident from the publications in reputed journals, may apply.

For Crystallography & Molecular Biology Division: Expertise in molecular dynamics simulations and multi-scale modeling in the area of large macromolecules, membrane proteins and macromolecular assemblies and/or evolutionary biology, computational genomics and related area of bioinformatics preferably using the Next-GEN sequencing facility, supported by a commendable list of publications in peer-reviewed journals.

For High Energy Nuclear & Particle Physics Division: Research experience in experimental high energy heavy ion collisions having expertise in large scale data analysis, Monte Carlo simulation and detector operations.

For Nuclear Physics Division: Proven research experience in accelerator based low energy nuclear astrophysics and/or nuclear structure/reaction studies.

For Plasma Physics Division: Ph.D. and post-doctoral experience in experimental work in magnetized plasmas/laser plasma interactions with preference for demonstrated ability for development of relevant experimental set-ups. 

For Surface Physics and Material Science Division: The candidate should have bright academic records, high quality publications and hands-on experience of the utilizations of instruments/tools/facilities existed in the Division for studying surface-interfacial properties in low dimension (in micro-nano meter length scale) with the aim of pursuing commendable research on energy storage materials and related topics.

Age : Preferably below 40 years. Age relaxation as per Govt. rules.
