Job Description
- We are looking for full-time associates to help us run the
day to day work of the foundation, as well as help come up with new ways
in which we can expand our impact in the journalism space.
Basic Responsibilities:
- Take care of day to day communication of SAJF with external stakeholders.
- Help in running the Grant process in an orderly and transparent manner.
- Work with existing Grant Winners to get updates on their work
- Communicate and guide new Grant Applicants.
- Help organize and put together events and workshops.
- Update SAJF website and other communication materials.
- Responding to queries raised by candidates in a timely and effective manner.
- We
expect associates to help us expand the mandate of SAJF and take the
initiative to shepherd new programs as they are developed.
- The
ideal candidate for this role is a very recent graduate from a top-tier
college with excellent written and verbal communication and a strong
history of leadership roles in extracurricular activities.
- High
integrity and willingness to be politically agnostic are essential to
the role. A love for and habit of reading is an absolute must.

SAJF is an Apeejay Stya and Svran Group initiative to selectively intervene in the journalism eco-system to support quality. Our current lead program is to financially support individual journalists in carrying out positive (enlightening) stories on India.

This selective intervention allows the foundation to have the maximum impact while not duplicating the efforts of others. The foundation is politically, philosophically, and ideologically agnostic, and supports the inclusion of thoughts and ideas from a diverse range of sources.
The current SAJF grant provides strings free grants to eligible journalists to pursue a story in long form to be published in any medium (print, video, digital, etc.) which are positive (enlightening) in nature about India or any of its sub-regions. The foundation is offering four grants a year of INR 3,00,000 each distributed over six months (INR 50,000 per month).
