Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
1. Internal Audit Support

Assist in planning and executing internal audits as per the annual audit plan

Conduct audit procedures to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls

Examine accounting records, operational data, processes, and documentation
-
Identify control weaknesses, process gaps, or non-compliance issues
2. Compliance & Risk Monitoring
-
Verify compliance with statutory regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures
-
Monitor adherence to financial, operational, and administrative procedures
-
Assess risk exposure in departments such as finance, procurement, inventory, sales, and HR
-
Report instances of fraud, misappropriation, or unusual financial activity
3. Financial Review & Verification
-
Review books of accounts, vouchers, ledgers, and trial balances
-
Cross-verify supporting documents like invoices, purchase orders, and receipts
-
Assist in verifying tax filings such as GST, TDS, and statutory deductions
-
Support reconciliation of bank accounts, vendor statements, and inter-branch transactions
4. Documentation & Reporting
-
Prepare working papers and audit evidence in compliance with audit standards
-
Draft audit observations, summaries, and recommendations for corrective action
-
Document findings clearly and concisely for review by senior auditors or management
-
Maintain records of completed audits, open issues, and action taken
5. Coordination & Follow-ups
-
Follow up with departments to close audit findings and verify corrective measures
-
Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and other stakeholders during statutory audits
-
Assist in tracking and implementing compliance calendars and internal policies
6. Process Improvement
-
Provide insights and suggestions for improving internal processes and controls
-
Contribute to development of standard operating procedures and control checklists
-
Participate in automation or digitization initiatives for internal audit processes

Support special reviews and investigations, as assigned
Required Skills & Competencies:

Sound knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, and financial regulations

Familiarity with GST, TDS, and other Indian compliance requirements

Proficiency in MS Excel, Tally, ERP, or any accounting software
-
Analytical and critical thinking abilities
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Ability to work independently and within a team

High attention to detail and accuracy

Time management and ability to handle multiple audit assignments
