Job Description

We're looking for a reliable and experienced auto driver to transport goods safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a valid driving license, excellent driving skills, and a strong commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

Passenger Transport

Pick up and drop off passengers safely and efficiently at their requested destinations.
Greet passengers courteously and assist them with entering or exiting the auto if required.
Confirm route and fare (if not metered) before starting the trip to avoid misunderstandings.
Ensure comfort and safety of passengers during the journey, including driving at reasonable speeds.
Follow GPS or use local route knowledge to avoid traffic jams and choose the most efficient routes.
Comply with all local transport regulations, including stopping at signals and using designated lanes.

Goods Transport (if applicable)

Load, transport, and unload packages, food deliveries, or other goods carefully.
Ensure timely delivery as per schedule or customer instructions.
Verify recipient details when delivering goods to ensure correct handover.
Keep delivery items safe from damage, theft, or mishandling.

Vehicle Maintenance

Conduct regular inspections of the auto-rickshaw to ensure it is roadworthy and clean.
Check and maintain fuel levels, engine oil, tire pressure, lights, horn, and brakes.
Report any mechanical issues to a repair shop or fleet manager for timely maintenance.
Keep the vehicle clean, both inside and outside, to provide a pleasant ride experience for passengers.

Fare Management

Use the fare meter when applicable, or charge passengers based on pre-agreed rates.
Handle cash payments accurately and return change when needed.
In case of digital payments, assist customers with QR code scanning or UPI-based transactions.
Maintain a record of daily earnings and expenses, especially if self-employed.

Customer Interaction & Safety

Be polite and respectful while dealing with passengers of all age groups.
Avoid unnecessary conversations that may make the passenger uncomfortable.
Follow hygiene protocols, especially when transporting multiple passengers throughout the day.
In emergency situations, help passengers safely exit the vehicle and seek medical or police help if needed.

Legal Compliance

Always carry a valid driving license, vehicle registration, insurance, and permit documents.
Renew necessary documents before expiry to avoid legal issues.
Do not indulge in overcharging, unauthorized routes, or unlawful activities.
Cooperate with traffic police and follow local road safety rules diligently.
