Position Summary
We are looking for skilled and detail-oriented AutoCAD Draughtsmen specializing in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical drafting to join our engineering and design team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed 2D and 3D drawings based on specifications provided by engineers or architects.
This role demands strong proficiency in AutoCAD (and optionally, software such as Revit, SolidWorks, or other CAD platforms), technical accuracy, and the ability to interpret complex technical instructions. You will work closely with engineers, site teams, and project managers to ensure drawings comply with industry standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Drafting and Design Support

Create accurate 2D and/or 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD based on sketches, specifications, or engineering input.

Prepare construction, fabrication, or installation drawings depending on the project scope (Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical).

Modify and revise drawings based on engineer or architect feedback.

Ensure all drawings are properly layered, dimensioned, and labeled for easy interpretation.

Maintain drawing libraries and standard blocks/templates.
2. Mechanical Draughtsman Responsibilities
-
Prepare detailed machine part drawings, sheet metal layouts, piping and ducting diagrams, or HVAC system schematics.

Create fabrication-ready mechanical component drawings including assembly and exploded views.

Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure drawings meet technical and functional standards.

Draft P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), mechanical layouts, and fabrication details.
3. Civil Draughtsman Responsibilities

Draft plans, elevations, and section drawings for civil infrastructure such as buildings, roads, bridges, drainage, or water supply systems.

Prepare reinforcement (rebar) detailing drawings for RCC structures.

Collaborate with site engineers and civil supervisors to ensure constructability and accuracy.

Draft foundation drawings, site development layouts, and construction sequencing details.
4. Electrical Draughtsman Responsibilities
-
Draft single-line diagrams (SLDs), wiring layouts, cable schedules, and electrical panel layouts.

Prepare lighting layouts, fire alarm system drawings, and power distribution layouts for residential, commercial, or industrial projects.

Assist electrical engineers in preparing load calculations and layout planning.

Ensure compliance with national and international electrical standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, IS codes).
5. Documentation and File Management

Maintain and manage version control of all drawings.

Ensure accurate filing and backup of all drawing files and revisions.

Assist in preparing As-Built drawings and document submittals for client handover.

Follow document control protocols and naming conventions as per project guidelines.
6. Quality, Standards & Coordination

Ensure that all designs meet local building codes, industry standards, and client specifications.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical) to resolve drawing clashes or discrepancies.

Perform self-checking of drawings prior to submission or printing.

Participate in internal reviews or design meetings as needed.
