Job Description

Job Summary:

The Aviation Operations and Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation and maintenance of aircraft used in commercial, cargo, charter, or defense aviation. This role covers both ground-based technical maintenance and involvement in operational procedures that ensure aircraft are airworthy, flights are safely planned and executed, and all regulatory and safety protocols are met.

This position is ideal for individuals with strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of aircraft systems, maintenance schedules, aviation regulations, and operational logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering:

Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft systems, including airframe, engine, avionics, hydraulics, and landing gear components.
Conduct routine inspections (pre-flight, transit, periodic, and overhaul) as per maintenance schedules and manufacturer manuals.
Troubleshoot and rectify faults using diagnostic tools, maintenance manuals, and technical documentation.
Ensure all maintenance activities meet regulatory standards set by aviation authorities (e.g., DGCA, FAA, EASA).

2. Flight Operations Support:

Coordinate with flight crews to prepare aircraft for departure including fueling, weight and balance checks, and systems validation.
Monitor aircraft operational performance and log flight hours, maintenance issues, and discrepancies.
Participate in pre-flight briefings to ensure operational readiness and flight safety.

3. Safety and Compliance:

Strictly follow safety procedures and quality control standards in accordance with local and international aviation regulations.
Ensure compliance with Aircraft Maintenance Programs (AMPs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and Service Bulletins (SBs).
Maintain accurate, complete, and timely records in aircraft logbooks and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Conduct root cause analysis of technical failures and initiate preventive or corrective actions.

4. Equipment and Tools Management:

Properly use, calibrate, and maintain specialized tools, test equipment, and ground support systems.
Ensure all tools and parts are inspected and certified before use and returned to stores post-maintenance.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

Record maintenance activities, part replacements, and compliance checklists in aircraft technical logs.
Prepare detailed reports for engineering teams and regulatory bodies after inspections or incidents.
Collaborate with technical writers and quality assurance teams to update maintenance manuals and SOPs.

6. Team Collaboration and Coordination:

Work closely with pilots, operations controllers, air traffic coordinators, and other maintenance personnel.
Coordinate with supply chain teams for timely procurement and inventory of aircraft spare parts and consumables.
Participate in shift handovers and provide detailed updates on maintenance status and pending tasks.
