Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and innovative Avionics Engineer to design, develop, and test advanced avionics systems used in rockets and satellites. The role involves integrating complex software, electronics, and hardware components to ensure reliable operation in demanding aerospace environments. The engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting avionics issues, performing rigorous testing, and ensuring all designs comply with relevant aerospace standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Avionics System Design and Development

Design avionics subsystems including communication, navigation, control, and sensor systems for rockets and satellites.

Develop hardware and software integration plans for avionics components.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to incorporate avionics into overall vehicle architecture.

Utilize CAD tools and simulation software for circuit design and system modeling.
2. Testing and Validation

Conduct rigorous functional and environmental testing of avionics hardware and software.

Develop test plans, procedures, and protocols to validate system performance and reliability.

Analyze test data and implement design modifications based on findings.

Perform integration testing to verify avionics interoperability with other spacecraft systems.
3. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution

Diagnose and troubleshoot avionics system faults and malfunctions during development and testing phases.

Implement corrective actions and design improvements to enhance system robustness.

Support root cause analysis and failure investigations.
4. Compliance and Documentation

Ensure avionics systems meet aerospace industry standards (e.g., DO-178C, DO-254, MIL-STD, NASA standards).

Maintain comprehensive documentation including design specifications, test reports, and certification evidence.

Coordinate with quality assurance and regulatory teams to support audits and certifications.
5. Collaboration and Communication

Work closely with software engineers, hardware designers, mechanical engineers, and project managers.

Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and project status updates.

Communicate complex technical information clearly to stakeholders at various levels.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Avionics, or a related field.

Proven experience in avionics design and testing, preferably in aerospace, defense, or satellite industries.

Strong understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and FPGA programming.

Familiarity with aerospace standards and certification processes.

Proficiency with electronic design automation (EDA) tools, simulation software, and hardware debugging tools.
