Job Summary
An AWS Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role involves managing cloud resources, automating deployments, optimizing performance, and ensuring security and scalability of cloud environments. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of AWS services, DevOps practices, and cloud computing concepts.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cloud Infrastructure Design & Deployment:
- Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure AWS infrastructure.
- Deploy and configure AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, and IAM.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
2. Automation & DevOps Practices:
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline.
- Automate server provisioning, monitoring, and configuration management using Ansible, Chef, or AWS Systems Manager.
- Optimize cost, performance, and resource utilization of cloud infrastructure.
3. Security & Compliance:
- Implement IAM policies, security groups, and encryption to secure AWS resources.
- Conduct security audits and ensure compliance with AWS Well-Architected Framework and industry standards.
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting using AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS Config.
4. Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting:
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues with AWS resources.
- Optimize cloud workloads for efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement auto-scaling, load balancing, and fault tolerance strategies.
5. Disaster Recovery & Backup Management:
- Design and implement disaster recovery plans and backup strategies using AWS Backup, S3, and RDS snapshots.
- Ensure high availability and minimal downtime of critical cloud applications.
