Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Baking and Preparation:

Assist with the preparation and baking of a variety of baked goods, including bread, cakes, cookies, pastries, and other products.

Prepare ingredients by measuring, mixing, and combining them according to specific recipes.

Operate and maintain bakery equipment, such as mixers, ovens, and dough sheeters, ensuring proper functioning and safety.

Follow recipes and baking techniques to ensure consistency and quality in every batch of baked goods.

Decorate cakes, cookies, and other baked items as required, adhering to customer specifications or seasonal themes.
2. Inventory and Stock Management:

Assist with the preparation and management of bakery inventory, including ingredients, packaging materials, and finished products.

Help in receiving and inspecting deliveries of ingredients and supplies, checking them for quality and accuracy.

Maintain a clean and organized storage area for ingredients, ensuring that items are used in a timely manner to avoid waste or spoilage.

Ensure that all bakery products are properly stored, labeled, and rotated to meet food safety guidelines.
3. Cleaning and Hygiene:

Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the bakery area, including countertops, work surfaces, and baking equipment.

Clean and sanitize ovens, mixers, utensils, and other kitchen equipment according to hygiene standards.

Follow food safety and health regulations by practicing proper handwashing, wearing appropriate protective clothing, and maintaining an organized workspace.

Discard expired or spoiled items and ensure proper waste disposal procedures are followed.
4. Customer Service and Sales Support:

Assist in the front-of-house activities, including serving customers, packaging products, and maintaining the display of baked goods.

Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with product selection, answering inquiries about ingredients or allergens, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience.

Take customer orders for custom cakes or special baking requests, communicating these orders clearly to the bakery manager or head baker.

Ensure the bakery’s products are attractively presented and that the display case is well-stocked with fresh items.
5. Quality Control and Product Presentation:

Assist in ensuring that all baked goods meet the bakery's quality standards, including taste, texture, and visual appeal.

Monitor products as they bake, making adjustments to time or temperature as needed.

Ensure proper portioning, packaging, and labeling of products to maintain consistency and customer satisfaction.

Work with the bakery team to ensure that product lines meet customer demand, particularly during busy periods like holidays or special events.
6. Team Collaboration and Support:

Collaborate with the bakery team to ensure smooth operations, especially during peak hours or busy times.

Communicate effectively with the head baker and other staff to ensure that production schedules are met and that any issues are promptly addressed.

Support other team members by helping them with tasks or assisting with other areas of bakery production when needed.
7. Assisting with Special Orders:

Help manage special orders, including custom cakes, pastries, or bread, ensuring that customers' specific requests are met in a timely manner.

Assist with preparing large orders for events such as weddings, parties, or corporate events, paying attention to detail in both presentation and timing.

Help ensure that all special orders are prepared and ready for pickup or delivery on time.
