Job Description

Job Summary:

A Banking Sales Executive is responsible for acquiring new customers and opening Savings Accounts, Current Accounts, Fixed Deposits (FDs), and selling Third Party Products (TPPs) such as insurance and mutual funds. This role involves direct interaction with customers in the open market, generating leads, building relationships, and driving business for the bank.

This is a performance-driven field sales role with attractive incentives, regular support, and a positive and professional work culture. The job provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the core banking business, customer service, and financial products.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Acquisition

  • Identify and approach potential individual and business customers in the open market.

  • Promote and open Savings Accounts, Current Accounts, and Fixed Deposits.

  • Educate prospects about account features, eligibility, documentation, and benefits.

  • Explain the advantages of digital banking, debit cards, and mobile banking facilities.

2. Sales of Third Party Products (TPP)

  • Pitch and sell insurance, mutual funds, and other third-party financial products offered by the bank.

  • Understand customer financial goals and recommend suitable TPPs accordingly.

  • Meet assigned sales targets for both core products and TPPs.

3. Lead Generation and Conversion

  • Generate leads through market visits, field activities, referrals, and local networking.

  • Follow up with leads through calls, visits, or appointments until successful conversion.

  • Maintain a strong pipeline and track daily activity and performance.

4. Documentation and Compliance

  • Collect, verify, and submit complete KYC documents from customers.

  • Ensure proper application forms are filled and submitted as per banking standards.

  • Adhere to all internal processes, guidelines, and RBI compliance norms.

5. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain good relationships with existing customers for future referrals.

  • Provide post-sale support and resolve customer queries related to their account or investment.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction by offering timely service and product updates.

6. Reporting and Coordination

  • Maintain daily reports of meetings, lead status, and account openings.

  • Submit reports and updates to the Branch Manager or Sales Head.

  • Coordinate with back-office teams for account processing and documentation.

  • Savings Accounts

  • Current Accounts

  • Fixed Deposits (FDs)

  • TPP (Insurance, Mutual Funds, etc.)

Skills and Qualifications:

Educational Qualification:

  • Minimum: Graduate in any stream (B.Com, BBA, BA, etc.)

  • Preferred: Candidates with a background in finance, marketing, or banking.

Experience:

  • 0 to 3 years of experience in field sales, banking, or financial services.

  • Freshers with strong communication and interest in sales can also apply.

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to convince and negotiate with different customer profiles.

  • Confidence to engage in fieldwork and market outreach.

  • Good understanding of banking products and financial services.

Technical Skills:

  • Basic computer knowledge (MS Office, Excel, Email).

  • Knowledge of digital banking apps and services.

  • Familiarity with CRM tools or sales apps (preferred but not mandatory).
