Job Overview

A Banking Sales Executive is responsible for promoting and selling banking products and services such as savings accounts, fixed deposits, credit cards, loans, and investment solutions to existing and prospective customers. This role involves building relationships, generating leads, providing financial guidance, and achieving sales targets.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication, persuasion, and customer service skills, along with a strong understanding of banking products and financial services. This role is suitable for freshers as well as experienced professionals looking to build a career in the banking and financial sector.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Promotion & Sales

  • Promote and sell a wide range of banking products including savings accounts, current accounts, fixed deposits, loans, credit cards, and investment plans.

  • Explain product features, benefits, terms, and conditions clearly to customers.

  • Assist customers in selecting products that suit their financial needs and goals.

  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline to meet monthly and quarterly sales targets.

2. Lead Generation & Client Acquisition

  • Identify prospective clients through referrals, walk-ins, database leads, or field visits.

  • Conduct outbound calls and in-person visits to generate new business opportunities.

  • Maintain accurate records of leads and client interactions in CRM or lead management systems.

  • Follow up with leads to convert them into active clients efficiently.

3. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers for repeat business and referrals.

  • Provide personalized financial advice and support to meet client requirements.

  • Address customer queries, complaints, and concerns professionally and promptly.

  • Assist clients with account opening, loan applications, and document submission.

4. Achieving Sales Targets

  • Meet or exceed daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales targets.

  • Track and report on sales performance, conversion rates, and revenue generated.

  • Develop personal strategies to improve conversion rates and sales efficiency.

  • Participate in sales meetings, campaigns, and promotions organized by the branch or bank.

5. Documentation & Compliance

  • Ensure all customer documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with banking regulations.

  • Maintain proper records of client applications, transactions, and approvals.

  • Follow internal banking procedures, KYC guidelines, and regulatory compliance for all transactions.

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for management review.

6. Collaboration & Coordination

  • Coordinate with branch managers, relationship managers, and operations teams to ensure smooth service delivery.

  • Share customer feedback with product and marketing teams to enhance banking products and services.

  • Work with internal teams to resolve customer complaints, transaction issues, or product queries.

  • Participate in team initiatives, sales campaigns, and promotional events.

Required Skills and Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of banking products, financial services, and investment solutions.

  • Familiarity with CRM software, banking applications, and MS Office.

  • Basic understanding of KYC, AML, and banking compliance regulations.
