Job Description
- Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
- Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks
- Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
- Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
- Plan and present bar menu
- Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
- Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations
Key Responsibilities:

Drink Preparation & Service:
-
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, mocktails, beer, wine, spirits, coffee, and specialty drinks.

Ensure all drinks are made to recipe standards, including accurate measurements, proper presentation, and garnishing.

Maintain a strong knowledge of mixology techniques and stay updated with new drink trends.

Provide beverage recommendations to guests based on their preferences.

Customer Service:

Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, making them feel comfortable and valued.

Engage with guests professionally, creating a lively yet respectful atmosphere.

Handle customer inquiries about beverages, promotions, and bar menus.

Address and resolve any guest complaints or concerns promptly and courteously.

Bar Setup & Maintenance:
-
Set up the bar area before service begins, ensuring all supplies (glasses, ice, fruit, syrups, mixers, etc.) are stocked.

Replenish bar stock and rotate inventory to ensure freshness and reduce waste.
-
Clean the bar area, utensils, and equipment consistently during and after service.
-
Follow all hygiene, health, and safety guidelines, including sanitizing surfaces and handling glassware properly.

Cash Handling & POS Operation:
-
Accurately process customer orders using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
-
Handle cash, card, or digital payments securely and provide correct change and receipts.

Maintain a daily sales log and report any discrepancies to the manager or supervisor.

Inventory Management:
-
Monitor bar stock levels and notify the supervisor or procurement team when reordering is required.

Receive, inspect, and store incoming deliveries, ensuring that all stock meets quality standards.

Assist in monthly or weekly stock-taking and inventory reporting.

Team Collaboration:
-
Work closely with servers, chefs, and managers to ensure smooth bar and floor operations.

Communicate efficiently with team members during busy service hours.

Assist in training new staff members when required.

Event Support:

Support private functions, parties, or themed nights by preparing custom drink menus or batches.
-
Set up portable bars or stations for outdoor or banquet events.
-
Manage crowd control and responsible alcohol service during large gatherings.
