Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate, knowledgeable, and committed Biology Teacher to join our academic team. The role includes teaching Biology to students from Classes 5 to 12, planning engaging lessons, and contributing to the academic and holistic development of students.
The ideal candidate should be confident in their subject matter, skilled at simplifying complex concepts, and able to inspire a genuine interest in science. This role is ideal for educators who want to shape young minds and cultivate scientific curiosity through interactive teaching methods, lab work, and real-life applications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Instructional Delivery

Teach Biology to students of Classes 5 to 12 in line with CBSE/ICSE/State/IB curriculum (depending on the school board)

Deliver lessons in a clear, engaging, and student-centric manner

Use a variety of teaching techniques – discussions, experiments, multimedia presentations, and case studies

Prepare and revise teaching aids, worksheets, and digital resources
2. Lesson Planning & Curriculum Development
-
Develop year-long lesson plans that align with curriculum goals and learning objectives

Prepare subject-wise, term-wise, and class-wise planning documents
-
Update curriculum materials based on new scientific findings and pedagogical methods
-
Coordinate with the Science Department to ensure syllabus coverage and integration with other subjects
3. Assessment & Evaluation
-
Conduct regular class tests, assignments, and practical assessments
-
Prepare question papers and answer keys for periodic and final exams
-
Grade student work fairly and provide timely feedback
-
Maintain performance records and report progress to parents during PTMs
4. Lab Work & Experiments
-
Plan and supervise biology lab sessions for classes 8–12
-
Ensure safety protocols are followed during lab activities
-
Instruct students in using microscopes, specimens, slides, and models effectively
-
Encourage project-based learning through experiments and observations
5. Mentoring & Student Development
-
Identify students’ strengths, weaknesses, and interests to offer personalized support
-
Foster scientific thinking, environmental awareness, and ethical responsibility
-
Mentor students preparing for competitive exams such as NEET, NTSE, Olympiads, etc.

Address academic or behavioral challenges with empathy and professionalism
6. Collaboration & Participation

Collaborate with fellow teachers and academic coordinators

Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events
-
Contribute to curriculum reviews, science exhibitions, and inter-school activities

Participate in teacher training programs and workshops
Skills & Attributes:
Subject Expertise:

Strong conceptual understanding of Biology from foundational to advanced levels

Familiarity with Class 10 & 12 board exam syllabi, paper patterns, and marking schemes

Ability to relate theoretical concepts to real-life biological phenomena
Teaching Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication

Use of digital tools such as smart boards, Google Classroom, PowerPoint, etc.
