Key Responsibilities:
1. Equipment Installation & Commissioning
-
Install and set up new medical equipment and devices in hospitals or laboratories.

Conduct testing and calibration to ensure proper functioning before use.

Provide training to healthcare staff on equipment usage.
2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
-
Perform regular preventive maintenance to avoid equipment downtime.
-
Diagnose technical faults and carry out repairs promptly.
-
Coordinate with manufacturers or service vendors for complex repairs.
3. Technical Support
-
Offer on-call support for troubleshooting equipment issues.
-
Assist clinical teams in the safe and effective use of medical devices.
4. Compliance & Documentation
-
Maintain service records, calibration certificates, and maintenance logs.

Ensure all equipment complies with hospital policies, safety standards, and statutory regulations (ISO, NABH, etc.).
5. Equipment Evaluation & Procurement Support
-
Evaluate new technologies and provide technical recommendations during the procurement process.
-
Participate in vendor negotiations regarding technical specifications.
6. Research & Development
-
Work on designing or improving medical devices and diagnostic equipment.

Collaborate with R&D teams to prototype and test innovations.
7. Training & Knowledge Sharing
-
Conduct user training programs for hospital staff.

Share knowledge on new medical technology trends and safety guidelines.
