Research Assistant /Technical Support Assistant Job in Biomedical Genomics Centre (BMGC-Kolkata) on contract basis
Research Assistant /1Post
Qualification: M.Sc. in Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Genetics. At least two years ‘hands-on’ experience in basic molecular biology laboratory techniques. Computer knowledge in MS Office. Proficiency in English and good communication skills. Desirable Qualification : Experience in genetic analysis of human clinical samples.
Pay Scale : Rs. 18000- 20000
Technical Support Assistant /1Post
Qualification: B.Sc. in any branch of Life Sciences. At least one year experience in clinical sample collection from hospitals and/or experience in basic molecular biology laboratory techniques including PCR and DNA sequencing. Desirable Qualification : Basic computer knowledge in MS Office (Word and Excel) for documentation and preliminary data entry. Proficiency in English, Bengali and Hindi.
Pay Scale : Rs.10000- 12000

Biomedical Genomics Centre Kolkata (BMGC-K) is a platform for clinical scientists to carry out research in genomics with “precisely defined” disease phenotypes, including events resulting from administration of relevant drugs, drawn from the patient population of the Medical School and to return back to the patients with genomic solutions for improved diagnosis, management and prophylaxis. In addition, through the organization of workshops and CME courses on biomedical genomics, with the eventual goal of initiating a DM/DNB programme on Medical/Clinical Genetics, the BMGC will foster capacity-building that is sorely lacking in our medical profession.
