Job Description

Overview:

A Bolero Pickup Driver is responsible for operating a Mahindra Bolero Pickup truck to transport goods, materials, or equipment safely and efficiently from one location to another. This role is essential in logistics, delivery services, and supply chain operations, especially in industries such as retail, construction, agriculture, small-scale manufacturing, and courier services.

The driver must follow traffic laws, ensure the vehicle is maintained in good condition, and maintain accurate records of deliveries. In many cases, the driver is also responsible for assisting in loading and unloading goods, handling basic paperwork, and providing courteous service to customers or suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Vehicle Operation:

Drive the Bolero Pickup vehicle on local, regional, or assigned routes.
Ensure safe driving practices at all times, following traffic regulations, road signs, and company policies.
Maintain accurate trip logs, fuel usage records, and delivery receipts.

2. Loading and Unloading:

Assist with or oversee the loading and unloading of goods to ensure they are handled safely and correctly.
Secure cargo properly using ropes, tarpaulins, or other materials to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
Ensure fragile or perishable items are stored and transported appropriately.

3. Delivery and Pickup:

Transport goods from warehouse or store to customers, vendors, or project sites as scheduled.
Verify the accuracy of delivery orders or goods against delivery challans (invoices or receipts).
Obtain signatures or proof of delivery from clients at the drop-off location.

4. Vehicle Maintenance:

Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle, checking oil levels, brakes, lights, tire pressure, and general mechanical condition.
Report any faults, accidents, or mechanical issues immediately to the supervisor or mechanic.
Ensure the vehicle is clean, roadworthy, and compliant with government regulations, including up-to-date insurance, registration, and fitness certificates.

5. Communication and Coordination:

Coordinate with the logistics or dispatch team for daily delivery schedules and route updates.
Communicate delays, traffic issues, or delivery-related problems promptly.
Provide customer service during deliveries, maintaining polite and respectful communication with clients and partners.

6. Safety and Compliance:

Follow all safety rules and traffic laws to avoid accidents and penalties.
Wear seat belts and ensure goods are transported securely and safely.
Comply with local transport regulations and vehicle weight limits.
