Role Overview
A Business Analyst (BA) acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams. The role involves understanding business needs, analyzing processes, gathering requirements, and helping deliver solutions that improve efficiency and achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders.
Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements.
Conduct business process analysis and process mapping.
Create documents such as:
Business Requirement Documents (BRD)
Functional Requirement Documents (FRD)
User Stories
Use Cases
Work closely with product managers, developers, QA teams, and stakeholders.
Facilitate workshops, meetings, and stakeholder discussions.
Perform gap analysis and impact analysis.
Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and validate delivered solutions.
Monitor project progress and ensure alignment with business goals.
Prepare reports, dashboards, and insights for decision making.
Required Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management
Experience with requirements gathering techniques
Knowledge of business process modeling (BPMN, flowcharts)
Ability to write clear documentation
Technical Skills (Preferred)
SQL for data analysis
Excel / Advanced Excel
Data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
Agile tools (JIRA, Confluence)
UML diagrams or process modeling tools
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, IT, Computer Science, or related field
Certification (optional but beneficial):
CBAP
CCBA
PMI-PBA
Agile / Scrum certification
Experience
Entry Level: 0–2 years (internship/project experience acceptable)
Mid-Level: 3–5 years in business analysis or related role
Senior: 6+ years with stakeholder and project leadership experience
