The company is at an early stage, with a focus on building its first buyer relationships, manufacturer network and export operations.Role summaryThe Business Head owns the company's commercial performance. This means winning buyers, managing manufacturer relationships, pricing and closing export orders, and taking the company to monthly operating break-even and then to its target annual revenue. The role requires someone who treats the business as their own and who is comfortable working across time zones, since buyers in Southeast Asia and Africa operate on different schedules from India.Key responsibilitiesBuild and manage the buyer pipeline across target markets, including tender monitoring, direct procurement and distributor relationships.Manage manufacturer relationships: qualify partners, negotiate supply terms and track GMP, product approval and export documentation.Lead quoting, pricing and margin decisions for each order.Oversee order execution from confirmation to delivery, working with logistics, documentation and finance.Build a monthly sales and margin forecast, and report progress against break-even and revenue targets to the Board.Identify new products and markets based on demand, registration feasibility and margin.Maintain the company's master product and manufacturer database and keep it current.RequirementsMinimum 5 years in pharmaceutical sales, trading or export, preferably with exposure to international markets.Working knowledge of export regulatory documentation: GMP certificates, certificates of pharmaceutical product, certificates of analysis and country registration requirements.Experience negotiating with manufacturers and government or institutional buyers.Comfort with basic financial analysis: pricing, margins, working capital and break-even.Strong written and spoken English. Familiarity with a language used in target markets is an advantage.Self-driven, with the judgment to act without close supervision.Working hours and availabilityThis is a demanding, high-availability role. The Business Head will need to be reachable outside normal office hours during shipment deadlines, tender closing dates and calls with buyers in other time zones, and will work extended hours during peak periods. Specific hours and any overtime arrangements will be set in the appointment letter in line with applicable Indian labour law.CompensationFixed salary: ₹30,000 to ₹50,000 per month gross, based on experience and the candidate's track record.Profit sharing: on mutually agreed terms, once the company reaches operating break-even and its target annual revenue
