We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Business Development Intern to join our team. The intern will play a vital role in supporting our outreach and engagement efforts with academic institutions. This position is ideal for someone who is confident on the phone, comfortable with email communication, and has a keen eye for organizing and managing databases.
As a Business Development Intern, you will assist in building and managing a comprehensive institutional database, initiating contact with academic institutions, and supporting the business development team in generating leads and building relationships with placement officers and administrative departments. You will also help in drafting and sending well-structured email communications to promote our organization’s offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Building & Managing Institutional Database:

Research and compile a list of relevant colleges, universities, training centers, and educational institutions.

Collect and update key contact details such as institution names, addresses, help desk numbers, emails, and placement officer information.

Maintain and regularly update the CRM or Excel database with accurate and structured data.

Segment institutions based on criteria such as location, course offerings, or placement cycles.
2. Cold Calling Institutional Help Desks:

Make outbound calls to institutional help desks to gather relevant contact information and verify existing details.

Introduce the organization and its purpose clearly and professionally during calls.

Take notes on responses and update records accordingly.

Handle basic inquiries or direct follow-up to appropriate team members when necessary.
3. Contacting Placement Officers:

Reach out directly to college/university placement officers via phone or email.

Explain the internship/job partnership opportunities, training programs, or services provided by the organization.

Schedule follow-up calls, virtual meetings, or demos when required.

Build positive relationships with key stakeholders and track all interactions for future reference.
4. Creating and Sending Informative Emails:

Draft and send professional, well-written email communications to institutional contacts.

Personalize email templates as needed to reflect the needs and profiles of different institutions.

Track open rates, follow-ups, and responses using email tracking tools or spreadsheets.

Coordinate with the content or marketing team to ensure messaging is aligned with brand tone and objectives.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (and any other relevant regional languages).

Comfortable making outbound calls and speaking with institutional representatives.

Strong organizational and data entry skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and email platforms (e.g., Gmail, Outlook).

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple tasks.
