Job Description

Position Summary:

The Business Development Manager - Sales and Presales plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and expanding the organization’s customer base. This position is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and nurturing client relationships, developing tailored solutions in collaboration with technical teams, and leading the sales process from initial contact to closure.

In addition to core sales functions, the Business Development Manager will also perform presales activities, including needs assessment, solution presentation, proposal development, and coordination with the delivery or technical team. This hybrid role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a strong sales acumen and a solid understanding of technical products or services.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Development & Sales Strategy

  • Identify, research, and target new business opportunities through market analysis, competitor evaluation, networking, and lead generation tools.

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives and revenue targets.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, market conditions, and customer needs.

  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities through various channels such as cold calling, emailing, LinkedIn, referrals, and attending industry events.

2. Client Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Establish and cultivate long-term relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders in prospective and existing client organizations.

  • Understand the client’s business model, objectives, and pain points to tailor solutions that create tangible value.

  • Conduct regular follow-ups and check-ins to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and identify upselling/cross-selling opportunities.

3. Presales Activities

  • Collaborate with internal technical teams, solution architects, and product managers to design customized proposals and solutions.

  • Participate in requirement gathering sessions with clients to fully understand their technical and functional needs.

  • Prepare compelling presentations, demos, and documentation to illustrate proposed solutions.

  • Address technical and functional questions from clients during the pre-sales process with clarity and confidence.

4. Proposal Development & Deal Closure

  • Draft and respond to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs in collaboration with internal teams.

  • Prepare pricing strategies, cost estimates, and commercial proposals in alignment with the company's profitability goals.

  • Negotiate terms and contracts with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.

  • Coordinate internal resources for the seamless delivery of projects post-sale.

5. Reporting & Forecasting

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and opportunities in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).

  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and pipeline updates to senior management.

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and adapt strategies based on performance analysis.

6. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with marketing, product, operations, and technical delivery teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of business development initiatives.

  • Provide feedback to product and service development teams based on client insights and market demand.

  • Assist in developing go-to-market strategies for new products or solutions.
