Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Business Development Specialist located in Gurugram. The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for generating leads, conducting market research, and establishing strong client relationships. Day-to-day tasks include identifying new business opportunities, developing and implementing growth strategies, and providing excellent customer service. The role also involves crafting and delivering compelling presentations and proposals to potential clients.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead Generation & Prospecting

  • Research and identify potential markets, clients, and business opportunities in the assigned territory or segment.

  • Use LinkedIn, online databases, referrals, and CRM tools to gather qualified leads.

  • Reach out to prospects through cold calling, emailing, and social media messaging.

  • Attend trade shows, networking events, webinars, or expos (if applicable) to generate leads.

2. Client Engagement & Relationship Building

  • Initiate contact with potential clients to understand their business needs and challenges.

  • Conduct in-depth discussions and identify solutions that align with the company’s offerings.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing customers.

  • Act as the first point of contact for clients, ensuring a professional and consultative sales approach.

3. Sales Pitching & Proposal Creation

  • Present company products/services to clients through presentations, demos, and meetings (virtual or in-person).

  • Customize proposals, quotations, and service agreements based on client requirements.

  • Prepare business case studies, ROI analyses, and comparison documents to support sales pitches.

  • Follow up diligently to address client queries and move leads through the sales pipeline.

4. Revenue Generation & Target Achievement

  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual business development targets.

  • Negotiate pricing and contractual terms to close sales effectively.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (finance, legal, operations) to finalize agreements and onboarding.

  • Track performance metrics including lead-to-conversion ratio, deal size, and closure cycle.

5. Market & Competitor Analysis

  • Analyze industry trends, market shifts, and competitor strategies to identify new opportunities or threats.

  • Provide actionable feedback to product, marketing, and strategy teams based on market insights.

  • Stay updated on new technologies, product offerings, and industry news relevant to the business domain.

6. Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain detailed records of all prospect interactions, status updates, and follow-up schedules using CRM tools (Salesforce, Zoho CRM, HubSpot, etc.).

  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports on lead status, deals closed, revenue generated, and sales forecasts.

  • Ensure data accuracy and adherence to organizational sales protocols and documentation standards.

7. Collaboration with Marketing & Product Teams

  • Work closely with the marketing team to align on lead generation campaigns, branding, and promotional efforts.

  • Share client feedback to help improve product offerings, features, and service models.

  • Coordinate with technical or product teams for customized solution delivery, if required.
