Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer-oriented Café Service Associate to join our team. As a Café Service Associate, you will play a vital role in providing excellent customer service, ensuring that our customers have an exceptional dining experience. You will be responsible for taking orders, preparing food and beverages, maintaining cleanliness, and managing customer inquiries, all while maintaining a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
The ideal candidate should be passionate about food and beverages, enjoy interacting with customers, and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service:

Greet customers as they enter the café with a warm and friendly demeanor.

Take customer orders in a polite and efficient manner, providing menu suggestions and answering questions about menu items.

Ensure that customers’ orders are correctly prepared and served in a timely manner.

Address customer complaints or issues professionally, aiming for quick resolutions.

Maintain a positive and approachable attitude, offering excellent customer service to ensure repeat business.
2. Food and Beverage Preparation:

Prepare and serve beverages, including coffee, tea, smoothies, juices, and other beverages in accordance with café standards.

Assist with food preparation, including sandwiches, salads, pastries, and other items as per the menu.

Operate kitchen equipment, including blenders, coffee machines, toasters, and ovens, ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness.

Ensure that all food and beverages are prepared and served in accordance with health and safety regulations.
3. Café Cleanliness and Organization:

Maintain a clean and organized café environment, including dining areas, countertops, kitchen space, and restrooms.

Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to meet hygiene standards.

Stock supplies such as cups, napkins, condiments, and other café items as needed.

Ensure tables and seating areas are tidy and presentable for customers.
4. Cash Handling and Register Management:

Operate the cash register to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.

Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions with attention to detail, ensuring correct change and receipts.

Maintain proper cash register procedures and follow opening and closing cash handling processes.

Issue receipts and maintain a record of daily sales and transaction logs.
5. Inventory Management:

Assist in monitoring inventory levels of food and beverage products, ensuring timely reordering when supplies run low.

Help with stocktaking and organizing deliveries to ensure the café is fully stocked and prepared for business.

Report any discrepancies in inventory or product quality to the supervisor or manager.
6. Team Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with other team members, including kitchen staff and supervisors, to ensure smooth café operations.

Support team members during peak times, assisting in food preparation, cleaning, or customer service as required.

Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance product knowledge and service standards.
7. Promotion of Café Products:

Promote new or seasonal menu items, special offers, and products to customers.

Upsell and cross-sell additional items such as desserts, snacks, or beverages when appropriate.

Provide customers with information on dietary preferences or ingredient options when requested.
