Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cake Preparation Assistance:

Help in preparing ingredients for cake mixing, such as measuring flour, sugar, butter, and other necessary items.

Assist in mixing and preparing batters for cakes, cupcakes, and other baked goods under the supervision of senior bakers.

Prepare cake pans and line them with paper, butter, or oil to ensure smooth cake removal post-baking.
2. Cake Baking:
-
Assist in baking cakes and other pastries, following the instructions provided by the head chef or baker.

Monitor ovens and baking times to ensure cakes are baked to perfection.

Keep track of baking schedules and make sure all items are baked on time for display and sale.
3. Cake Decorating:
-
Assist in cake decoration, including frosting, icing, fondant application, and simple cake designs.

Prepare decorations such as flowers, edible figures, and piping for cakes.

Clean and maintain decorating tools like piping bags, spatulas, and cake turntables.
4. Ingredient and Equipment Maintenance:

Assist in receiving and organizing ingredients and supplies for the bakery, ensuring items are stored properly.

Clean baking utensils, equipment, and surfaces to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.

Help in maintaining stock levels of ingredients and inform the manager when items are running low.
5. Cleaning and Hygiene:

Ensure that the cake shop’s kitchen and working areas are clean, tidy, and sanitized.

Assist in washing dishes, cleaning countertops, and disposing of waste according to health and safety regulations.

Adhere to hygiene and safety standards while handling food products.
6. Customer Assistance:

Occasionally assist in taking customer orders or packaging cakes and baked goods.

Help with organizing the display of cakes and pastries to attract customers.

Provide general assistance to customers in choosing cakes, making recommendations, or offering information about ingredients (especially in case of allergies or special requests).
7. Stock Management:

Help with inventory checks of raw materials and ingredients, ensuring items are always available for baking.

Assist in packaging and labeling cakes, pastries, and other baked items for sale.
8. Other Support Duties:

Assist the head baker or bakery manager with any additional tasks, such as preparing for special events or promotional orders.

Follow any special instructions from senior staff or management regarding customer orders or customized cakes.
