Job Summary:

We are looking for a meticulous and technically skilled Calibration Engineer to manage the calibration of measuring instruments and customer equipment both in our laboratory and on-site at customer facilities. The Calibration Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and traceability of measurement instruments used in various industrial and manufacturing processes.

The candidate will be responsible for carrying out calibration activities according to established standards and procedures, maintaining the laboratory’s master equipment, and ensuring compliance with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS). This role requires a strong understanding of metrology principles, excellent technical skills, and the ability to work independently and in customer-facing environments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Handling and Calibration of Measuring Instruments

• Perform routine and non-routine calibration of a wide range of measuring instruments and devices such as pressure gauges, temperature sensors, electrical meters, torque wrenches, dimensional measuring instruments, and others.

• Use precision calibration standards and master equipment to ensure the accuracy and traceability of calibrated instruments.

• Analyze calibration data and produce detailed calibration certificates and reports for customer and internal records.

• Follow manufacturer manuals, calibration procedures, and industry standards (such as ISO/IEC 17025) to conduct calibration activities.

2. Calibration of Customer Equipment

• Execute calibration services at customer sites when required, demonstrating professionalism and technical competence.

• Coordinate with customers to schedule calibration activities minimizing operational downtime.

• Troubleshoot and diagnose any issues with customer equipment and recommend corrective actions.

• Ensure all on-site calibration work complies with safety regulations and company policies.

3. Maintenance of Master Equipment

• Maintain and manage the laboratory’s master measuring instruments ensuring they are calibrated, certified, and traceable to national or international standards.

• Schedule and perform periodic verification and calibration of master equipment to uphold the laboratory’s measurement assurance program.

• Keep accurate records of all master equipment calibration history, usage logs, and maintenance activities.

• Manage the inventory of calibration standards and consumables, placing orders when necessary.

4. Quality Management System Compliance

• Adhere strictly to the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) during all calibration and maintenance activities.

• Participate in internal and external audits related to calibration processes and laboratory management.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance calibration quality, efficiency, and compliance.

• Assist in the preparation of quality documentation, calibration procedures, work instructions, and technical manuals.

5. Documentation and Reporting

• Prepare and maintain accurate calibration records, reports, and certificates ensuring all data is complete, traceable, and compliant with regulatory requirements.

• Document any deviations or non-conformities encountered during calibration and initiate corrective actions as necessary.

• Communicate calibration results effectively with customers and internal stakeholders, providing technical explanations and recommendations.

• Archive calibration documentation securely as per company policy and regulatory standards.

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of metrology principles, measurement techniques, and calibration standards.

• Proficiency in handling various measuring instruments and calibration equipment.

• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and calibration procedures.

• Good analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.

• Ability to work independently in lab and field environments.

• Good computer skills, including proficiency with calibration software and MS Office.
