Job Summary:
The Captain - Order Taker plays a crucial front-line role in ensuring a smooth dining experience for customers by accurately taking food and beverage orders and coordinating with the service and kitchen teams. Based in Madurai and Chennai locations, the Captain will be the main point of contact for guests, guiding them through the menu, answering questions, and ensuring timely, efficient, and courteous service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Guest Interaction and Order Taking

Greet guests warmly as they arrive and guide them to their seats.

Present menus and help customers with recommendations based on preferences and availability.

Take accurate food and beverage orders and input them into the POS system.

Handle modifications or special requests clearly to avoid errors.
2. Coordination with Kitchen and Service Staff

Communicate orders efficiently to the kitchen and bar staff.

Follow up on order preparation and ensure timely service to guests.

Double-check the accuracy of each order before serving.

Coordinate with waiters and service staff to deliver dishes correctly.
3. Service Management

Supervise the dining area to ensure a smooth flow of operations.

Ensure cleanliness and proper arrangement of tables before and after guests are seated.

Respond promptly to guest complaints or issues and escalate to the manager when needed.

Maintain high service standards and ensure guest satisfaction at every stage.
4. Billing and Closing

Present the bill in a courteous manner and assist guests with the payment process.

Handle cash and card transactions accurately if required.

Ensure bills are properly closed in the system and recorded.
5. Reporting and Team Communication

Provide feedback to the manager about daily operations, customer feedback, and any issues.

Participate in team briefings before shifts to understand the menu, specials, and assignments.

Assist in training junior staff and maintaining a team-oriented atmosphere.
