Job Description
We are looking for a reliable and experienced car driver for transportation services in Velachery and nearby areas. The candidate should be familiar with local routes, punctual, and committed to safe driving.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Driving Duties:
Safely operate the assigned vehicle (car or SUV) to transport individuals, executives, guests, or goods.
Ensure timely pickup and drop-off as per the given route or schedule.
Plan efficient travel routes using GPS or local knowledge to avoid traffic or roadblocks.
Remain calm and composed during traffic congestion or long hours of driving.
2. Vehicle Maintenance and Care:
Conduct daily vehicle inspections before use—checking fuel levels, engine oil, water, brakes, tires, lights, battery, and indicators.
Maintain vehicle cleanliness (interior and exterior) at all times.
Report any mechanical issues, unusual noises, or damages to the supervisor immediately.
Ensure the vehicle is serviced regularly, and all legal documents (insurance, registration, PUC, road tax) are up to date.
3. Safety and Compliance:
Obey all traffic rules, signals, and road regulations while driving.
Maintain a valid and active driving license and commercial badge (if applicable).
Wear seat belts and ensure all passengers do the same.
Drive responsibly, avoiding rash or distracted driving behaviors.
4. Recordkeeping and Reporting:
Maintain a daily logbook or trip sheet noting kilometers traveled, locations visited, fuel usage, and time logs.
Submit fuel and toll bills, maintenance receipts, and travel expenses on time.
Keep records of vehicle service history and upcoming renewal dates for legal documents.
5. Client and Executive Handling:
Greet passengers with politeness and assist with doors, luggage, or personal belongings.
Follow confidentiality guidelines, especially when working with high-profile or executive clients.
Be available during odd hours or holidays if the employer requires flexible timing.
Accommodate specific requests such as specific routes, preferred speeds, or vehicle settings.
