Job Description

Typically involves safely and efficiently transporting, adhering to traffic rules, ensure vehicle maintenance and task like route planning. Perform daily inspection of assigned vehicle, ascertain it is properly cleaned and maintained, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safe Driving and Transportation:

Drive safely and responsibly, obeying all traffic laws, signals, and regulations.
Transport company staff, clients, or materials to and from designated locations.
Plan routes to avoid traffic and ensure timely arrival.
Handle unexpected situations such as traffic jams, bad weather, or detours calmly and efficiently.

2. Vehicle Maintenance and Care:

Conduct daily vehicle checks including fuel, oil, tire pressure, brakes, and lights.
Keep the car clean and presentable at all times – both inside and outside.
Monitor vehicle servicing schedule and ensure timely maintenance and servicing.
Report any mechanical problems or damage immediately to the supervisor or fleet manager.

3. Documentation and Logs:

Maintain a daily log of mileage, travel times, destinations, and fuel consumption.
Keep track of toll payments, parking fees, and any official expenses incurred.
Ensure proper documentation such as insurance, registration, and driver’s license is up to date and available in the vehicle.
Submit expense reports or fuel bills to the appropriate department regularly.

4. Customer Service and Professional Conduct:

Greet passengers courteously and assist them with loading or unloading luggage if needed.
Maintain a professional appearance and respectful demeanor at all times.
Ensure passenger safety and comfort during the trip.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information when driving executives or clients.

5. Emergency Readiness:

Be prepared to respond to emergencies such as accidents or medical incidents.
Understand basic troubleshooting for common vehicle issues (e.g., jump-starting a battery, changing a flat tire).
Know emergency contact procedures and be able to reach help promptly if needed.
